Which is why border security should be addressed first and separately from reform. The R's should put forth a bill that addresses this with concrete solutions and only after its passage should they move on to immigration.

The immigrants that were coming here for 180 years wanted to work hard and made sure their children grew up to be respectable adults. Many of these illegals come here with taking advantage in mind and simply don't give a damn about this nation.

The immigrants that were coming here for 180 years wanted to work hard and made sure their children grew up to be respectable adults. Many of these illegals come here with taking advantage in mind and simply don't give a damn about this nation.

I'm really uncertain how to respond to your post. I DO agree that far too many Hispanics come here and fail to learn fluent English. But, they DO work very hard, often at jobs nobody else will do. They wait in parking lots at Home Depot, Lowe's and Nurseries hoping to get any jobs coming their way. [I've had need of them several times and they work very hard for reasonable prices] They send their kids to school knowing they will face racism and bigotry and do everything they can to see their children have a better chance than they.

And, the vast majority I know DO NOT got about getting food stamps or other government handouts.

You've got it backwards. The current president is a socialist. The PRI is a socialist party that held power in Mexico for most of the 20th century. The PAN is the conservative party in Mexico and while they hold the most seats in congress they don't have a majority in either chamber.

The current PRI IS NOT socialist.

In 1986, Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas (former Governor of Michoacán and son of the former president of Mexico Lázaro Cárdenas) formed the "Democratic Current" (Spanish: Corriente Democrática) of the PRI, which criticized the federal government for reducing spending on social programs to increase payments on foreign debt. The members of the Democratic Current were expelled from the party and formed the National Democratic Front (FDN, Spanish: Frente Democrático Nacional) in 1987.

In reality, the PRI is the descendant of the Criollo families that brought about Independence and the last revolution. It's goals were to retain the power of those families and is one of the reasons it is going all out to wipe out the drug lords who threaten their power.

Here is an immigration bill I could live with...

1 - Every illegal here on Jan 1st 2013 can stay.

a - They will never be allowed to gain citizenship, regardless of their age when they were brought here, nor will they ever be allowed to vote in any election.

b - Any children of theirs born here will not be citizens.

c - They will never be eligable for any social services, including medicare or welfare.

d - They will not be eligable to "chain immigrant" any relatives not living in the U.S. as of Jan 1st 2013.

e - If convicted or pleas of guilt/nolo contondre of any crime, including misdeamnors, they and their immediate family will be deported upon completion of their sentence.

2 - The Southern border with Mexico will be sealed within 5 years, National Guard troops will be posted along the border along with INS and DHS to guard the border until it is sealed.

3 - A 5 year hiatus for immigration will be in effect effective the date of signing this bill into law.

4 - Every employer in the country will be required to check every employee through E-Verify within 6 months of the signing of the bill. Any employer who fails to do so will be fined $25,000 per day per employee from the date of signing. All new employees will be verified through E-Verify prior to hiring.

5 - All new immigrants, after the hiatus, must prove they have a job and can support themselves and their immediate family. ( Immediate family is restricted to Husband/Wife/Biological children only) They will not be eligable for any for of Welfare or social services to include Social Security or Medicare, for a period of 25 years, for which they must be employed for at least 18 years.

6 - The children born of any immigrant who has not become a citizen is not afforded automatic citizenship upon birth. Both parents of any child born of an immigrant must be Citizens at the time of birth of the child for the child to have been born a Citizen of the United States.
