I don't say that your view is wrong and I don't deny that it has an appeal, but I am a foreigner and I have seen the US literally save the world from COMMUNISM. Now there have been mis-steps etc and sadly they have been costly, but the US has literally saved the lives of many millions. I for one (of many) am very grateful!!

The USA is engaged in trade and investments through out the world. Being involved that way also engages us in other ways as well. Especially to protect our interests and people outside of our physical borders.

Two world wars and other events of the past century have shown how isolationism fails and costs more in blood and treasure in the long run versus what it would have by earlier and proactive course.
