who cuts spaghetti?....Do you?
Finally someone who knows how to do it right!I use a samurai sword
How is that disrespecting it? This is not a criticism but a question.I've vacationed in Italy.
If you ordered a plate of spaghetti at a local restaurant and started cutting the pasta with a knife.
The owner and staff would so offended.
They'd physically toss you out of the restaurant for disrespecting the national dish of Italy.
In Italy they eat spaghetti with a fork by twirling the pasta into a tight ball and bringing it your mouth. How is that disrespecting it? This is not a criticism but a question.
yep no one in my family or in any of the Italian restaurants i have been in use a knife....i dont ever remember seeing a knife at the tables.....just a fork and spoon for the twirlers....In Italy they eat spaghetti with a fork by twirling the pasta into a tight ball and bringing it your mouth.
Using a spoon against the end of the fork is also acceptable.
But cutting the pasta with a knife is considered uncouth and barbaric.
Interesting. I don't actually eat spaghetti at a restaurant. I am too messy.yep no one in my family or in any of the Italian restaurants i have been in use a knife....i dont ever remember seeing a knife at the tables.....just a fork and spoon for the twirlers....

It’s a cultural thing. For example my son spent a semester at University of Bologna and his roommates were culinary students from Tuscany. When he later saw me using BOTH garlic AND onion to make a spaghetti sauce, he treated me like a war criminal. Unlike in the USA, in Florence you have to choose between the twoHow is that disrespecting it? This is not a criticism but a question.
