Pelosi bows to herself? She's the Democratic House minority leader. Who the fuck else is she supposed to represent? The alt-right? When is the last time McChinless or Eddie Munster didn't represent their ilk?

Apparently, based on what pissed off conservative lawmakers in the Senate, we don't need a Supreme Court any longer. Many of them have vowed that ANY nominee by the soon to be president, Clinton, will NOT be entertained for confirmation.....keeping the present SCOTUS in a virtual 4 to 4 tie.

Of course, we all know that at least 2 liberal judges in the Court, are too old to serve many more years, and conservatives hope that the Court will boil down to a 4 to 2 right wing majority after these latter two Justices retire or die.

So, I ask, is this the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next that our Founders dreamed about and we have witnessed for over two centuries?

Nope, these are the checks and balances portion of our program.

Against a slow invasion of imported voters directed by a Marxist political party determined to bury the Constitution? I have no problem with the Senate sitting on its hands for as long as necessary.

Just remember that what goes around comes around. What if (God forbid) Trump wins, but the Dems get the Senate? What if Alito or Uncle Thomas wakes up dead with a pillow over their head? There could be a liberal majority in the USSC and a Dem congress could just sit on appointments. Will we still be hearing about "checks and balances" from the right wing? Not bloody likely.

It's a mess, it shows the inherent problems of the US system in the modern era, and it's time to follow the Founders' advice and go for the Amendment process.

1st up is changing Congress to be Proportional Representation (personally I like the German system which still have constituency members and then fills up parliament to reach PR with the list people).

2nd up is to make the Supreme Court NON-POLITICAL. Judges shouldn't be spending a career trying to attract the attention of one side or another. Judges should be elected based on the opinion of their peers, rather than politics. With PR in place it would reduce the partisan bullshit situation that exists now, and should therefore reduce the partisan bullshit in choosing judges.

3rd up is to change the Presidency to have a run off election, so the last two are up against each other because they got the most votes in the previous round.

4th up is to vote PROPERLY, but that's the hardest of all for many people.

The General Welfare clause refers to the state of the nation, not the comfort of unproductive individuals and non-citizens. That's a matter for charity.
