Do Republicans have a history of helping the American Middle Class?

I'm talking about the last 30 years.

Does anyone have any examples of really good GOP policies that helped a lot of regular Americans?

From the few Republicans who dared to comment, it looks like the answer is "no".

Do must Republicans feel this way:

Rottweiler commenting on Healthcare: That's exactly right. The American people don't deserve shit.

I think this kind of proves why the country gets so damaged when Republicans are in charge. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In the last 30 years? Tax cuts and the balance budget Republicans gave us. (Unfortunately briefly) That alone has done more for the nation than the party of slavery and segregation has ever done for this nation.

Are you talking about the Democratic Party when it was ruled by white conservatives? Remember, they moved to the GOP in the middle 60's and that's why the GOP is 90% white.

Republicans have NOTHING to offer the middle class.

Under Barack Obama the Middle Class have seen their cost of living skyrocket as their paychecks have stayed the same. Millions of Americans languish on long term unemployment because Barry and Friends don't have a clue about economics or job creation and have essentially given up even trying to come up with a plan at this point! Quick 1%er...tell me who Barack Obama's economic advisers are right now and what their plan is to fix the economy!!! The truth is...you can't do that because there is no plan and there hasn't been one since Larry Summers left YEARS AGO! This is an Administration that is running out the string. They tried progressive Keynesian economics and it was such a flop that they had to invent a new statistic...jobs created or saved...to hide how bad things were.

Even if true, your post is mere deflection from the OP.

LOL...even if true? You guys can't even mount a defense of the idiots that are running the country right now yet you're here blaming the GOP for the ills of the Middle Class? Who's sitting in the Oval Office right now? Who controlled the House, Senate and the Oval Office and couldn't come up with a viable economic plan to fix the economy but instead gave us the ACA...probably the worst piece of legislation ever written?

The biggest thing republicans have done economically were Bush's insane tax cuts for the wealthy class. Obama is responsible for the biggest tax cut for the middle class since Reagan. 2x private jobs were created in Obama's first 5 years than all of Bush's 8.

BULL FUCKING SHIT !!! not one shred of truth and reality at all.

Your parent teach you to lie like this?

So explain to us how millions of jobs can be moved to China from 2001 to 2008 and more than 40,000 factories could be closed during that same time, and Bush still created jobs.

Still waiting.

Well?

Still waiting.

Thought so.

what does the fact of Obama being clueless have to do with the gop?

Democrats raised taxes under Clinton and that's why Republicans were voted into office. It was Democrats who balanced the budget. The deficit creating Bush Tax Cuts went mostly to the wealthy.

Look at how much went to just the top 1% alone.

Right. Newt Gingrich is a Democrat.

Not to point out the absurdity of your little pie chart, Deanie...but how is it that you give a tax cut to those who don't pay taxes in the first place? Duh?

And that includes children and veterans.

And what about disaster victims?

Does anyone have any examples of really good GOP policies that helped a lot of regular Americans?

Absolutely. The earned income credit, no child left behind the prescription drug plan all of dubious value but the intent was to help the middle/lower class.

Conservatives More Liberal Givers

Bush tax cuts helped the middle class more then anyone else.
The idea of a Medicare drug benefit may have been to help seniors but the real purpose of the legislation was to increase drug company revenues. For most seniors, it would be cheaper to purchase the drugs through Canada.

If I hand you a pile of shit and tell you to spin gold out of it, I can't come back a day later and ask where the gold is. Bush and the GOP wrecked everything they could and bled the country dry. After the destruction they caused, you can't blame Obama even if it were 20 years later and not a mere 6. Worse, how have Republicans helped this president? On anything?

One of the worse aspects of the Republican law was to stop bundling. Health care companies used to be able to group together and buy in bulk. Republicans stopped that. So an HMO for example, can only buy what it expects to use. This caused prices to skyrocket. But that only applies to America (GOP loves to screw over Americans). Other countries can still buy from US companies in bulk. That's why it's cheaper to buy from them even when they add the cost of a middle man.

Prove this chart isn't true. You can't. We both know it.

The Bush tax cuts were the biggest help middle and lower income Americans got from Republicans. They must have been a good thing or Obama would have got them repealed.

Unemployment benefits: not until Bush tax cuts pass, Senate GOP says - CSMonitor.com

Bush Tax Cuts vs. Unemployment Extensions

You know that Republicans threatened to cut off unemployment benefits for millions of Americans if Obama didn't agree to the Bush Tax Cut Extension, right? It wasn't that long ago. Tell us you remember that happened.

Well the dems were going to pass a drug benefit along with a few gop votes. Rove took the issue off the table. That doesn't mean the gop didn't want to help the MC at that time. They didn't pay for the program, though.

1950's, 1960's, 1970's,1980's, 1990's. In the 90's GOP and Gingrich had to drag Clinton kicking and screaming to support earned income tax credit and balanced budget.

You still drudging up Hurricane Katrina? how about those people were so unable to help themselves due to generations of government dependency that they stood on roof tops begging for help. Why? Because they didn't want to leave their stuff to get stolen, or they were waiting to steal. Jesse an Al came down with 14 charter buses for a backdrop when they made a speech in NO. The buses were rented for a day and Jesse and Al told the police not to let anyone on as it was just for show. Never took ONE single individual out of NO. Criminal. Now look at the 1993 floods that struck the Mid-West. Nobody whined or cried about government help. People pulled together, sandbagged and fought back. NO turned into a little Mogadishu after the storm with looting and crime.

yeah, back when the gop could compromise.
There is a difference between compromise and destroying the United States with socialism. democrats are all left wing extremist. Tip O'Neil would be a conservative today by Democratic Party standards.

Interesting you brought that up. We have an election tomorrow beteween the TP guy and Than Cochran. Cochran's camp has been correctly pointing out that without the federal seed money for community development grants, the Gulf Coast would still be flat on its back, when today it's an economic engine for the state and fed economies.

Ah no.

Thomas P. O'Neill Jr., a Democratic Power in the House for Decades, Dies at 81

but Reagan would have been a rino on amnesty and compromising over taxes.
