Furthermore, my mother, who was a nurse for 50 fucking years and has lots of experience in these masks, has indicated to me, and shown me proof via medical documents, that masks only have a very minor impact on the spread of disease.

She suffers from other conditions that make her more vulnerable. In order to go out, she wears a mask and practices social distancing. Two things that we know work to slow and prevent the spread of the virus. If a mask can't be worn, best to just stay home.
