Of course they do! That's why surveys and polls are so unrealistic and don't predict anything accurately.

The release said, completely without irony: "A third of people in the UK will not give truthful answers about themselves when asked questions by pollsters, according to a new survey."

And, how many hang up or simply refuse to answer polling phone calls? We expect those who DO answer to tell us the truth?

Of course these figures are the result of a survey.

Maybe you should post a survey?

Worry less about lying and more about how surveys ask the question. Getting the results you want is a simple as wording the questions properly to evoke the desired response.

When I'm interrupted whilst doing something I want to do I just hang up on pollsters.

If I have time on my hands I answer all of their questions - filling them so full of shit that their little eyes turn brown.

I always figured the live one's sitting there checking what they want you to say when you answer.
