What means "spends" in your totally mad way to think? Only the US-American tax payer "spends" money to your army. All other armies of the NATO are paid from other taxpayers. And the organisation of the defence alliance NATO has only a budget of about 1-2 billions.

A real problem for us is it for example that the USA left the NATO and we ordered F35 jets in the USA on reason of compatiblity with US-American nukes and deterrence of the Russians. But the behavior of the USA is not calculable any longer for us. Seems to me the Canadians have the same problem. Also for them it makes no sense any longer to buy F35 jets from the USA.

I guess it was the left jumping on the bandwagon, once again unwittingly a tool of the MIC, the silent or not so silent collaboration between politicians and arms manufacturers in which politicians are rewarded by the arms makers with donations and lucrative jobs as lobbyists or "consultants" upon retirement.

I'm old enough to remember when the left was quite enamored of Russia, then called the Soviet Union.
