I have no idea if this will work...but it was fun.

Normalized 1075 came in the mail today 1.5x12 inches...

Cut it in half both ways...

Laid out the pattern using my shavette as a guide, rough cut...

Heated and flattened tang, drilled pin hole...

Dry shaved a spot of beard with it...and it does actually work...

Have some Apitong left over from redecking a trailer...some that is going to be the handle. Instead of pinning both ends...I found a description of this technique on Instructables...

Cool. Made any "friction folders?" Good sellers.
Not yet...but might in the future.

The problem with being a Jack of all trades is that "master of none" part. I can do a lot of things satisfactorily...but unfortunately, I'll likely never be good enough at one thing to truly call myself a craftsman.

But...dabbling is fun too.
 
The Apitong cleaned up pretty well with some sanding and a couple coats of Watco Teak Oil...
