The impact of President Donald Trump’s recent involvement in Louisiana’s congressional races was evident once again on Monday.

State Representative Dixon McMakin, a Republican from Baton Rouge, withdrew from the contest for U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow’s seat in the 5th Congressional District just 12 days after declaring his candidacy.
