Anyone who is scared shouldn't teach where I teach. Lots of middle-aged women teach at the same school I do, and they do not "fear for their lives."
Don't exaggerate.

My daughter was a substitute teacher for a while. She got her high school education in the 1980s and said the schools he taught at had much less discipline. The 50s and 60s, students respected teachers and the schools. Students would never dream of assaulting a teacher because a teacher told them to put away a magazine during class. Same students could bring guns to school.
Today, teachers need to fear for their life when they tell a student to put away their cell phones.
