There we go. Now maybe we can have an intelligent discussion with G.T.

I can appreciate not wanting ad-homs to drown out a discussion.

I concede for the moment. A quick check reveals that the public sector may very well have contracted. Touche.

Unfortunately, I'm at work and can't spend the time that I would like researching it right now. But I still don't concede the overall the country is better off than 4 years ago vis a vis the costs incurred to get where we are.

Don't like opposing point of views?

LL was being a little ad-hom-ish. Can't knock the people who want a customized experience :eusa_angel:

Berratta doesn't like mods expressing their opinions in a debate thread when they are acting as posters.

How has your life improved under the Obama regime?

Now please don't go to a website and list his accomplishments which were likely written by someone who favors him. Keep it party neutral.

In your own words, list how your life is better.

P.S. No Bush comments. This is about the last 4 years.

First, why do you want to exclude why we made him president to start with?

Second, when did it become the president's job to make my life better.

For me personally, the fact he saved GM probably saved my job, even though I don't work for GM. ( I work for one of its key vendors, and my job at that time dealt with GM.)

Company I worked for was bleeding badly in 2009, but it's stablized since.

My 401K which was busted in 2009, is actually pretty healthy because the stock market bounced back.

Why we made obama president? We didn't do shit, idiots like you did.

Second, when did it become the president's job to make my life better.

This is how liberals make a way to give a failed president they support an out. His policy can make life easier or stink for Americans.

After I stopped paying taxes at the passage of obama tax things are looking great. I make more money now since I only work for cash and no checks.

Calling names isn't stating an opposing view. Maybe in your world but not mine.

You implied the thread was pointless and that people would lie six posts in, what do you expect?

And why did I say that at that point? Because at that point they weren't tying it to Obama as G.T later did.

Take a comprehension course and spend less time being an instigating moderator who adds nothing to this particular thread.

I can see that this thread is going to turn into a waste of time and likely a pack of lies.

Why?

I made a $1,000,000, bought 5 houses and 6 new cars.

The point is to name the improvement and tie it to Obama.

Anyone can make any statement.

You didn't ask to tie it to Obama in the OP, you asked how life has improved under his regime.
A few people posts what seem pretty straight forward, non exaggerated answers and you post this.
You reap what you sow.

Now good day! Discuss

I will level with you:

The debt has not gone down under any President, Congress or administration in over 60 years.

People were born, and have died - unaffected, but told to fear the debt all the while through.

Don't sweat it too terribly much, and I'm not saying that from an IRRESPONSIBLE don't pay our bills place, but more-so a Realist perspective that there's more to the Debt than meets the eye, there's people behind the Curtain of Elections that advise the running of things and always have, and despite POLITICAL rhetoric, the Country hasn't vastly changed between D's and R's changing power and there's a reason for that.

The Country is not worse off than 4 years ago. The rhetoric is worse off. The partisan tone is worse off. The misinformation is worse off. All elections are about fear, and once into power we learn the fear was for nothing.

Just like this election, the last election had people telling you Obama was a secret Terrorist sympathizer, meanwhile in reality-ville he authorized more strikes than Bush did (drone).

Just like this election, the last election had people telling you Obama was going to destroy you with taxes. He dsidn't, he extended the cuts and he also added more cuts inside of the stimulus bill.

Just like this election, the last election had people taking sound-bites from Obama speeches and making it seems as though he hates America. (remember "apology tour??") Meanwhile, from those SAME SPEECHES, he praised at LENGTH American exceptionalism. They didn't play you those parts in the partisan media.

Calm down about "Obama's destroying the Country." He's not, we're fine. If Romney gets elected, we'll all feel the same a few short weeks afterward, and partisan bickering on messageboards and the media will continue, business as usual.

I think you do, then go back and read your OP.
And like before, me being a moderator has nothing to do with this thread.

had to quit my job for a better paying one so I could afford the increased cost of living

and am currently looking for another to cover the increased cost of living

aside from that, the rest is completly on me.

So you've been able to find a better paying job, and you are complaining?

I went from an full time job and tried my luck on a better paying temp job.

Not b/c I wanted too, but b/c I needed to.

see the difference?

This is just my story...

I got a huge promotion, to the SOI (Space Object Identification) analyst position, increasing my salary by a nice chunk.

Sold my mother house as my father passed due to lung cancer. The house was in Cocoa Beach FL, sold it in two weeks and for the asking price, and for cash money, no bank involved.

My GF finally got a job at a dog grooming establishment. She started out at $400 a month but is now making close to a living wage. I think we will get married this year as were both 32 and im making good money now.

Besides my father passing, Im quite happy right now.

I bust my ass and always have. I owned two business before I took a job with the space program, working for NASA was a dream of mine. I am not sold on anything Romney and the GOPers are selling. The company I had was a pool screen repair/ install gig, I did quite well and sold the company for a nice chunk of change.
