"Two years ago, a whistleblower in Clark Township came forward with explosive allegations: He’d secretly recorded the mayor, the police chief, and a supervisor in internal affairs referring to Blacks with racial slurs. “Shines.” “Spooks.” The N-word. Yet Clark officials hid those accusations by preemptively agreeing to pay $400,000 to the whistleblower and his attorney to avoid a lawsuit that would have thrust them into the public eye.

In a settlement with Manata in early 2020, Clark officials allegedly agreed to keep him on the police department’s payroll for two years—without working—until he could retire as captain. Six months after Manata settled with Clark Township, supervision at the police department changed. Now, Manata is not expected to receive his first pension payment, due to a pending investigation in the police department."

Well, who was in the wrong...the guy who extorted money from his own police department or the police department for paying money to this guy instead of seeking to defend themselves against these outrageous allegations??

Think about it; this guy records his fellow officers and even his own mayor "allegedly" using racial slurs and then extorts not just 400K from them -- but they kept paying him for 2 years even tho he wasn't even working there... And instead of keeping his mouth shut about it, he decides to say something only because his pension payment was delayed.. What happened to the honor of the code? What happened to brotherhood for your fellow officer?? Now because you didn't keep your mouth shut, good cops are going to have their named drugged thru the mud....

Where is the good guy in this ? A crusading reporter fighting city hall and inside grifters ?

How in the world could a N.J. township get away with a half a million dollar payoff and keep it secret and what about the attorney's firm? Something ain't right about the story or organized crime has it's dirty hands in race based extortion.

Racial slurs should be in acceptable common usage, no matter how much black men's vaginas bleed.

If I missed an agreed upon pension check, I would be pissed also. More power to him.
