So much blame to go around, but it seems to me the democrat controlled courts are very much responsible for these fires.

The democrat appointed judges do not throw out these frivolous lawsuits by the environmentalists. Here is one example. If I had the time I could find dozens of cases where the courts blocked common sense fire prevention.

The courts are out of control and destroying us as much as the elected politicians

How many similiar cases are there? 1000's?

Lawsuits against the U.S. Forest Service
  • Sierra Club v. U.S. Forest Service
In April 2024, the Sierra Club and other environmental groups filed a lawsuit against the Forest Service for authorizing logging and vegetation management projects in the Giant Sequoia National Forest. The groups argued that the projects were not necessary for ecological restoration and maintenance.

  • Environmental groups sue US Forest Service over plans to thin
Environmental groups sued the Forest Service over plans to thin 13,000 acres of forest near Big Bear.

you are a few marbles short.

I have lived most my life in California and have followed these lawsuits for years.

In the San Bernardino Mountains the pine trees were infected with beetles that killed millions of trees. The courts prevented the removal of the dead trees.

A friend of mine got sued by environmental groups for removing dead brush and forced to restore habitat. She was fined by the forestry service for having the dead brush. She was fighting these conflicting orders when the Crestline fire burned her cabin to the ground. She took whatever insurance paid and abandoned the property.

Oh yes the bark beetle. It was destroying acres of trees. The S8erra Club protected the beetle. A logging company said they would remove the infected trees and eradicate the beetle. Environmental groups formed Save Our Forest and accused the logging company of wanting to clearcut the forest. So, let it die.

I eat red meat. This is all my fault because of the cow flatulence.

It is insane, all branches of government work against us.

Yet, people are told a reservoir was empty so that is what everyone believes the problem was.

If only will filled one tiny reservoir ...

Would it have helped? The fire hydrants are broken, non working or stolen. There was no delivery for the water.

I just saw a very scary interview with Newsom. It's his opportunity to build Los Angeles 2.0 to serve everyone in Los Angeles not just the people who owned property.

By what? Seizing the property? Taking those homes. Turning it into affordable housing? Was this all a scam to make the land worthless?

Low information people like yourself believe lies on social media because they suit your politics.

It’s a cancer on the country.

Interesting case but the guy was heavily warned not to do it... They manage the conservation areas and keep native species which are far more fire retardent than invasive species...

This is what the guy did anyway:

The city has a schedule to clear dead and invasive growth. He could have asked the city to increase their schedule...

This is a simple case of a guy clearing land in an amateur fashion which he did not own.

They have professionals that know how to do this and how to manage it... This is prevent a free for all...
The land I see there is now vulnerable to mudsliding, did he think of that?

Ignorant voters and the people they so gullibly voted for did this. Mainly leftists. The voters and their leaders.

There's only so much compassion I can have for people who bring this kind of tragedy on themselves.

The problem was with water pressure... The system they have in LA was not built for this type of disaster and Urban water system couldn't take the load that was needed...

No scam, Newsom didn't put install that water system (it is probably decades old), but there when they build it back they can put in a system that can take more load.
This means higher costs and more taxpayer money, that is more socialism...Where are the GOP on that one?

But they should have known they were in a wildfire-prone area and done something about it long, long ago.

It is quite a scam when you elect a man who promises to protect your interests and his incompetence causes your home to literally burn down around you.

They did do something and the property was on a schedule for regular clearing of dead wood and invasive speciecs...

He could contacted them at anytime if he felt not enough was being done...

The guy was an idiot and cleared the lad of everything, This makes it susceptible to mudslides.

This why they use professionals... Bad land management causes untold damage in areas when clueless people take it into there own hands to do things like this...

By the way, it wasn't his land... What would happened if that was a private land owner?

I saw first hand this been done in South Africa where they cleared land of trees... Massive Mudslides ensued...

There was no incompetency here...

This was a wildfire with 100 mile an hour winds which grounded the air crews who are there main line of defence. This fire was advancing at a football field a minute...

It then whipped embers to jump large distances which made fire pretty uncontainable.

The water pressure issue was from pipes that were there for decades...

It was perfect storm situtation... And yes Newsom was saying when they rebuild they will rebuild with this in mind...

We don't blame Governors |(be they GOP or Dem) when they get a one in hundred year hurricane. If they are not prepared for a basic hurricane then there is questions... Did we hear Biden criticising DeSantis during or after Hurricane Milton?

Problem is that Global Warming is going to make these happen much more frequently. People who deny this are a danger.

No amount of water would of helped stop the fire. The only thing is prevention.

Newscum, he was 100% aware of all the problems. From courts preventing brush removal to any issues with water.

Newscum was 100% informed and took actions that ignored the problems newscum was aware of.
