Dick is dead.

Nevertheless, he was a husband, father, grandfather, etc., friend to many. I think it unnecessary to like him or appreciate him to respect that it is a sad occasion for that family and close circle of friends. Not cool to cheer his death.
I didn't cheer his death. I stated exactly what I meant. I won't miss him. His presence on this earth has absolutely no bearing on my life. There are probably very nearly 8 billion people who exist that are in the same boat.

The only good thing I can think of to say about Shooter Dick is he had the good sense to recognize the orange messiah is a worthless pile of shit.

But he is/was not an evil person, ran a critical business,
Have you ever spoken to the man? I think you are being a bit dramatic about a guy that you wouldn't have thought about for the rest of your life, had it not been posted in the media.

Being dramatic? Really? Acknowledging that a person who is a household name, even a controversial one, is also a person with family and friends who loved him is being dramatic?

Thinking it is not cool to celebrate a person's death for no other reason than you oppose him politically is being dramatic?

No I have not ever met Dick Cheney in person. I never met MLK or JFK or Ronald Reagan etc etc etc either. But I can understand that all had people who did know them, who respected and loved them. and understand that for those people their passing is a sad loss and they will be missed.

If that makes me being 'dramatic' so be it.

I haven't thought about Dick Cheney since he shot that guy in TX. He is far from being a household name.

People die in this world every second of every day--I don't know any of them either. I recognize celebrities that have a record of accomplishment that I am personally acquainted with. I ignore those that I don't. Dick Cheney was a second rate politician and far from being an honorable man. If it makes you feel better to acknowledge him, have at it. I didn't disparage him but I'm damn sure not going to put him on a pedestal either. Sounds to me like you admired him--again more power to you. I am a bit more discerning about who is important in my life and I'll repeat again---I won't miss him.

Quite a few Republicans or non-leftists on this thread have expressed that they won't miss him (not those exact words, but the same idea.) In your view is that "celebrating his death"?

Your assumption that people are "celebrating his death" simply because of team sports politics is wrong. Not everyone thinks that way, many people look at actions, as opposed to just a letter by someone's name.

And I don't miss any of those people either. They had absolutely no bearing on my life whatsoever. Beyond getting a day off with pay for MLK, what effect have those others had on your life that you will miss? Nothing. I rest my case. Drama.

Sad when anyone dies. i always look for something good in them even it is just something I learned from the harm they did.

The most important lesson I learned from Cheney is that just because Democrats constantly lie that does not mean that they never tell the truth - if only by accident.

By the same token, the Republicans' tendency to be more honest is still only a tendency and they have their share of lying, self-serving sacks of shit.

That is what I learned from Cheney getting us into his forever wars.

Each to their own. I think you are seriously confusing my argument here with something entirely different but oh well. Do have a great rest of your day.

You realize that Dick Cheney, along with several others like Rumsfeld, were responsible for fabricating the predicate to start a costly war, that lead to the creation of ISIS, the death of hundreds of thousands, including our own precious soldiers bodies and blood.

I just wish people like you would learn to read better. But anyway have a great day Buttercup.

I defy you to find a single post of mine ANYWHERE at ANY TIME in which I put Dick Cheney on any kind of pedestal. My goodness, your reading comprehension and/or interpretation is getting as bad as the leftists.

Hold on here, I made a post with a very simple message of I won't miss him. I won't. Nothing else. You chastised me for disparaging him instead of thinking about his family and his life. His life means NOTHING to me personally. Maybe you should examine your comprehension skills.

People like me? I don't know what you mean by that, but I have been reading the thread. I have not seen people "celebrating his death" simply because of a disagreement in political ideas. Which seems to be what you're claiming, when you say things like "for no other reason than you oppose him politically" That's why I asked you to elaborate, but if you want to do a hit and run, OK.

Iraq had no ties to 9/11
Iraq had no (operable) WMD's
Iraq had no nuclear program
Iraq was not in violation of the UN resolutions.

But Dick Cheney lied about all of that, and got America into a costly and deadly war for no reason.

Well maybe Halliburton was a reason.
