they have trouble winning with the present make up of LEGAL voting citizens, so why not import them.
I've been lurking to see when you'd post, eagle. I really don't see an issue than recent immigrants tend to vote for the more progressive party, esp in the large cities. My father was German/Irish and his father and maternal grandparents were immigrants. My father voted straight dem ticket until Reagan. He openly said "immigrants always vote dem until they have enough money to vote republican." Immigrants who are not white (and Cuban) may have more friction in assimilating that those from Europe. Jews have always been a very small minority, and their interests are largely driven by fears of oppression and a Jewish state.
But I was lurking because I wanted to say I changed my mind about "amnesty" and agreed more with you than I did years ago. I still don't see any useful or possible way to deport people who have lived and worked peacefully for decades and raised families. But I don't think they should ever be citizens and able to vote if they came here illegally. And I'm not sure it would be legal, but I don't think I'd be opposed if they never got to collect soc sec and medicare despite paying into them over their working lives. We don't need to incentivize breaking the law.
I still think prosecuting employers is the only real way to largely cut illegal immigration, though.
