Democrats win last two Wisconsin recall elections

Even with the money Republicans, including the Koch brothers, poured into the state recall elections, Democrats kept all three of their seats, won two Republican seats and barely lost in three out of four of the other races.

It's pretty clear what Democrats are fighting for.

What are Republicans fighting for?

I blame the liberal media. :eusa_whistle:

Did they take control of the Wisconsin Senate?

No?

Well then...yay.

No, but they did get two out of three seats closer; and all they need is that one Republican who voted against Walker's budget to vote with them again. And anyway, it sends a message to Republicans. They are the real losers here. Who lost seats? Dems? No. Repubs? Yep, two of them.

Of course, there were also a few Senators who, like Walker, have just been elected and aren't eligible for a recall............yet.

Those declaring victory for the GoP in WI right now are jumping the hell out of the gun.

Republicans are fighting to lower taxes for the rich and to kill Medicare and Social Security.

Oh, and the Democrats out there touting this as some historic victory--they are reasonable and rational.

This is what the left is grasping too.

well, historic victory? who's using that term? i haven't seen it. but if you do know your history, then you'd know how extraordinary it is that the repubs lost two seats. this type of thing just doesn't happen.

i'd say it should give you pause...

Actually we gained two seats in less than a year because Scott Walker fucked up.

I know, that's funny, right? Then there's the two Republican seats from Republican districts that Democrats won during the last round of recall elections. That was hilarious :lol::lol:

CRUSHING DEFEAT FOR REPUBLICANS!

DEMOCRATS HOLD 14 OF 14 SEATS IN RECALL!!!!

:lol::lol::lol:

The Democrat Party spent $45 million in an attempt to retake the state Senate.

GOOGLE says 45 million was spent by the Dems, and you need a citation.

RDEAN says the Koch brothers poured money into the state recall elections, and you're silent.

In what may be the result of one of the great political miscalculations of our time, Scott Walker’s popularity in his home state is fast going down the tubes.

A Rasmussen poll out today reveals that almost 60% of likely Wisconsin voters now disapprove of their aggressive governor’s performance, with 48% strongly disapproving.

While these numbers are clearly indicators of a strategy gone horribly wrong, there are some additional findings in the poll that I suspect deserve even greater attention.

It turns out that the state’s public school teachers are very popular with their fellow Badgers. With 77% of those polled holding a high opinion of their educators, it is not particularly surprising that only 32% among households with children in the public school system approve of the governor’s performance. Sixty-seven percent (67%) disapprove, including 54% who strongly disapprove.

Can anyone imagine a politician succeeding with numbers like this among people who have kids?

It happens all the time in a BLUE state like Wisconsin. The point is GOVERNMENT WORKERS UNION'S LOST--in their recall efforts. And that is the FINAL vote.

Are you really that stupid? Your poll was a survey of 800 Likely Voters in Wisconsin was conducted on March 2, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports.

Your March poll (I still can't believe you thought it was released today... read what you post) had Walker with positive reviews from 43% and negative reviews from 57% of voters statewide.

A more recent poll from 8/16 http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/08/poll-wis-voters-getting-iffy-on-walker-recall.php has him at 45% approval to 53% disapproval.

His positive is UP 2 points, while his negative is DOWN 4 points.

Essentially, YOUR SOURCE proves he is GAINING popularity!

One of the great things is, if the Republicans keep cutting taxes, pretty soon we won't be able to afford to pay your monthly check.

Which means I will have more money in my pocket, and you won't.

Only a few recalls have taken place in the entire history of WI, and now Dems have managed to unseat two Repubs at one time in historic recall elections, and cons act like it's a victory for Repubs. :cuckoo:
The goal was to take back the legislature........They failed.

But hey, you go right ahead with your hooooooody hoooooooo moment, and we'll go ahead and laugh our asses off at you loons.

They are just supporting corruption. They think the mob should be paid for health insurance. The sad part for these clowns is several blue states instituted the same or similar reforms, and didnt utter a peep.
