According to CBS News, sales at walmart, 11% of the US retail economy, have fallen nine weeks in a row. Further, chain store sales have dropped three times in a row, with the latest drop 1.5%. These are taken as very bad signs by analysts, indicating the approach of a second recessionary dip. Tell me more about the miracle of keynesian economics.

Gladly...

It saved us from another Great Depression.

The problem is the stimulus was too small.

But the fact that the price of gas is going down is going to help bring the economy back by next year.

Bad news for Republicans.

Walmart sucks, and I'm glad their sales are dropping. Apparently, when they cozied up to the Koch brothers to hoover all the money out of America, they didn't realize there'd be a down side.

Morons.

Keynes would be rolling over in his grave. The concept of deficit spending to counter recessions that he espoused was based upon governments that were not deeply indebted. He also was a proponent of building up a surplus in good times. Pure fantasy.....

WalMart Sucks? You're Nuts! Walmart bring low cost goods to Middle and Low income families. I can't afford JCPenny, Sears. This problem goes way back to Kissinger & Nixon. They thought they'd give the U. S. a market for our goods, but what they did was export our jobs. Then came NAFTA, we sent more jobs to Mexico. We can't make things at a price that working class Americans can afford.Government regulation, & the well meaning environmentalists have made it almost impossible. We here a lot about high-tech jobs, but, with a high school drop-out rate like we have it's obvious that we need people making shoes. City councils across America should BAN NIKI and other expensive brands until they open factories here in urban American. It's a ruff world out there and it's time to get tough with the competition.

That is one of the most LAUGHABLE excuses I've ever heard from anyone on anything!

Imagine if a baseball manager was questioned by the owner about his 40-120 recOrd last season, and he said "If you hadn't hired me, it would have been 10-150".

:lmao:

CHUTZPAH REMARK OF THE YEAR PRIZE!
:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

THE PRICE OF GAS IS LOW BECAUSE THE BAD ECONOMY HAS SUPPRESSED DEMAND!

   :D    :D    :D    :D    :D

Pubs STOPPED the miracle of Keynesian economics, moron.

Yeah riiiiiiiiiiiight - pulled the brakes at the $7 trillion mark. :D Now if only it had been allowed to go to the $100 trillion level, or better yet the $1 quadrillion level, everything would have worked out just spiffy!!

What’s telling and sad is that many on the right actually wish this would happen. They actually want to see fellow Americans suffer so they might realize some perceived political gain.

That he fails. He needs to fail, so they can feel vindicated. Even if it costs them the country, if there is any implied or perceived harm to him - WINNING!

They will keep spending until this country collapses like the Zimbabwe. Count on it!

They've had overwhelming political control fo three years, they've unleashed all the extremist crap they could only dream about for decades, and now they sit in the middle of the wreckage caused by america's only amateur president, and say

"Duh! It's the republicans what done it! Yaa - that's it!"

You got that right...9 to 10 percent unemployment for 27 plus months and a economy that stinks to high hell. They were screaming about Bush's economy in 2004-2006 period; when it was like 4.3-5 percent, but they some how call the Obama economy good. You would have to ignore the facts to say that Obama has a good economy. Utterly blind.

Now they're talking about another dip into the depression? Why should this guy win another term again? Why can't you democrats run someone that maybe able to turn this around against Obama in 2012?

Is thinking about shit like that how you keep your mind of the Fact that Obama has utterly failed all on his own. Worse yet he did it while holding a super Majority in 1 House and 1 Vote Short of one in the other.

Utterly Failed, No Budget for over 2 years from him or the Dems, No Obama Plan to address the Debt. He's a failure. I guess if thinking about what you think of republicans takes your mind off that sad situation then more power to ya.

Years from now when people judge the Obama Presidency. They will say that it was precisely that Attitude of Don't look at me Look at the Republicans that was the Problem. Obama had a golden Opportunity when he was elected, and Instead of making Compromises and getting things done. He rammed Unwanted laws through congress that are likely going to be ruled Unconstitutional, and he Rammed In effective, Debt Ballooning, Stimulus through.

He has had 3 Years and you guys still are trying to tell us how it's not his fault.

Obama's Presidency can be summed up like this. No Leadership, No Responsibility, and No results.

Nancy and Harry might as well have been President the last 2.5 Years, Because Obama has let them take the lead and done nothing buy Divided the country he said he would Unite.

He failed to close Gitmo, He is getting us out of Iraq, and guess what Violence in Iraq is already on the rise. He tripled the Troops in Afghanistan and we are seeing our worst casualties since the early in the war. When he failed to get the support for a real single payer Health care plan, he chose to cobble together a disaster of a bill that Rewards Insurance companies, Promises to Balloon in cost, Robs Medicare Leaving it with IOUs, and oh by the Way Violates the Constitution.

He has heaped so much no Regulation, and new mandates on Business that you can barely hear yourself think over the sucking sound of Jobs fleeing this country. He has caused the most uncertainty the Markets have seen since the Depression, and his only defense is his Stimulus Staved off a Great Depression.

Well I got news for you, If it staved it off at all, it was only for a short while, and the added Debt it caused will only make it worse. Anyone who says spending more was the answer is a fool, At it would have done is give you a slightly larger temporary Blip. Government spending is not going to cause the private Sector Growth we need gain the Amount of Revenue we need to balance our books, and if you try to tax your way to enough new Revenues in this economy, it's going to back fire.

Bill Clinton and the Republican Congress did not Balance the Budget with meaningful Spending Cuts or new Taxes. Those things contributed, but the Lions share of new revenue that caused those short lived Surpluses came from a once or twice in a century Bubble. The Internet Tech Bubble. Very Robust Economic Growth did it, and that is what will do it now.

Just yesterday Obama said the recent economic downturn is just a run of bad luck, wow.......

Provide actual evidence this is true. Meanwhile Republicans try desperately to bring Government spending down and slow the growth of the deficit and our borrowing, all met by staunch NO's from the Democrats.
