If Haspel had been illegally using "enhanced interrogation" techniques to acquire crucial information, I would say jail her. But that was not the case.

She was the head of the secret prison, and so yeah, if people were getting tortured, she'd be the one to sign off on it or keep it from happening, her call, because she ran the joint. And, torture is against the Geneva Conventions. If we tortured our prisoners, then the other side would retaliate and torture our troops. But, because of the Geneva conventions, most (not all) don't.

And yeah, she DID use enhanced interrogation and even had tapes of it, but destroyed them when Congress asked to see them.

I'm not so sure about that, Sailor. Haspel was asked/ordered to oversee a terrorist torture house, but she did not conceive it or have any say on whether prisoners were tortured there. That is what the facility was opened for, by her bosses. She may have agreed; maybe she was given the option of refusing the posting, but that's as far as her opinion on the matter would have gone. When she took over the site, the torture of the "famous" prisoner cited in the link below, was already over. The site closed two months later (too many people knew about it--they found someplace more secret).

Once she accepted the position, she WAS following orders, gruesome as those orders might have been. They only know of one other inmate there, who was waterboarded, during Haspel's two months.

I still can't agree with her being turned into an S&M Queen over this. Are people afraid she will bring torture back to the CIA? She can't.
