Democrats Torpedo Compromise Funding Bill: Only 2 Dems Voted for It, While 172 Republicans Voted for It--When Will Enough Dems Compromise?

Shamefully, only 2 Democrats voted for the compromise spending bill that Speaker Johnson submitted yesterday. 172 Republicans voted for it, with 38 voting against. Thus, if just 33 Democrats had voted for it, it would have passed and there'd be no worry about a government shutdown during Christmas.

The compromise bill contained about 80-85% of the provisions of the original bill, which is why 38 hardline Republicans voted against it. Speaker Johnson needed help from the Democrats to pass the bill, but only 2 Democrats voted for it.

Democrats are hoping they can extort Johnson into caving in and submitting the original bill, which would most likely pass because at least 50 Republicans would vote for it just to avoid a shutdown. But why can't the Democrats compromise and accept 80-85% of what they originally said they wanted?
We already had a compromise. So the GOP kills it and brings forth a bill with their wish list? And you accuse the Dems of not compromising?

This is a fine example of the thorough brainwashing of the cult.

Got a link?
Nah. Caught it on Fox. I wouldn't even know but I perked up because they were talking about disaster relief, after North Carolina drowned.
I doubt that disaster relief is the only problem conholes have with the bill but that's what this Meurer asshole was bitching about.

Yes, that's why they negotiated the bi-partisan bill that was shot down by GOP hardliners.

WW
The reality is that Republicans are more able to negotiate a budget with Democrats than with Hardline Republicans
Hardline Republicans do not want to spend a cent and cheer when the Government shuts down.

I see nothing on FNC, or google about Maurer objecting to relief funds….

Trump has his own ideas. Just like Joe signed off on the Prog ideas. They named some of the things in the legislation. Just one is the Baltimore bridge which supposedly will cost 2 billion dollars to redo will get 8 billion dollars. We also have a lot of middlemen.

In fact, I think that is what Arlette is talking about to me....

Meuser. Dan Meuser. If you don't believe it, don't believe it. It's no skin off my nose.

Good boy. Just say what you’re told to.
I say whatever triggers you worthless leftist traitors.

The second compromise bill passed yesterday (12/20) because 190 Democrats voted for it and 176 Republicans voted for it. 34 hardline Republicans voted against it. One Dem voted "present." It passed 366-34.

The funding bill was a very reasonable compromise--each side gave up some major items they had been demanding. Here's a good article from CNN on what is in and out of the funding bill:

The 34 Republicans who voted against it need their heads examine. The fact that they were willing to shut down the government because they found the second compromise bill unacceptable shows they are a bit too extreme and unreasonable.

Johnson realizes that if he wants to get things done, he needs to work with Democrats. The extreme right of his party will not agree to anything.

Those 34 Republicans will keep him from being Speaker and start another GOP Clusterfuk to pick another speaker
