Rampant inflation got you down? Don't worry: Democrats are here to help! Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.), Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), and Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.) have proposed a bill that would give every American $100 each month to help offset the scourge of rapidly rising inflation.

CBS News noted of the proposal, which is being called the Gas Rebate Act: "The gas stimulus would 'provide middle-class Americans with monthly payments to ease the financial burden of this global crisis,' Thompson said in a statement about the proposal."

Sure, what could go wrong with that idea? :laughing0301:

It doesn't matter what problem they create with bad policy they always have the same ready made solution, socialism.

They end goal is to ensure that every American is dependent upon gov't for even the most basic things in life.

That is by design their long term strategy to gaining and retaining permanent power.

They will just have to raise taxes to pay for it.
"Tax the rich."

Even if we taxed the rich at 100% of their incomes there wouldn't be enough to go around to really improve anything for the poor and lower middle class.

You could have a party for one year and then you'd figure out you'd killed and eaten the Golden Goose when you came back around for a second helping.

We could confiscate 100% of the wealthy's holdings...cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, companies, everything -- and it wouldn't fund the government for even a year.

Everyone who says all our dreams can come true by taxing the rich doesn't know shit about economics.

It's just a start. Once they sell this stupid ideas to the fools on the left it will be increased and increased and the god damned socialists will have their universal income in place. They know Americans are getting ready to throw them into the gutter so they are going to spend trillions more this year to try to buy their way back into office. Rather than giving people without a car 100 dollars for gas money, just reduce the gasoline tax because after all the democrats promised last summer that their inflation was only transitory. A temporary suspension of the gasoline tax will make sure the help goes to the people who have to buy the gasoline.

The free money has to stop, these stupid socialists have learned nothing from their recent policy disasters.

Spending by Congress is the primary cause of inflation.

Great idea!
$100 bills folded thusly.....

Certain to go a long, long way to...........oblivion.

Democrats have always seen the Treasury as their own personal vote-buying fund.
I've noticed over many years that when democrats are in power, gas prices always spike and the democrats threaten petroleum industry penalties for gouging. The petroleum industry seems to suffer refinery fires on a regular basis justifying in higher fuel prices. Maybe the democrats should quit their socialist policies and allow the free market to run. A hundred dollars a month to every tax payer is not sustainable and at some point of the democrats choice--it will be discontinued. They should just stay out of the market place and let free Americans handle their own finances.

I predict California will be the first state to pass a law forbidding businesses from passing their government-caused cost increases on to their customers.
