Democrats Plan On Nation's School Buses Wasteful!

and the average school bus logs 12,000 miles a year in 9 months

That is 60 miles a day

You're assuming there's no need to take school teams, cheer squads and bands to away games. Here in TX that could be 100 miles, each way. Out in West TX even further.

.
Like Texas would ever buy Electric School Buses

Drill Baby, Drill

Yeah, we're so backward we produce almost 30% of the wind energy produced in the whole US. How much does your backwater shithole State produce?

.
We have seen how dependable the Texas power grid is

Best you stay away from electric vehicles.....unless you charge them in Cancun

Poor little commie, you deflect instead of answering a simple question. What time of day do you download your commie talking points?

It’s fantastic that Texas produces so much wind power. What’s not fantastic is their power grid infrastructure that was not conditioned against severe weather events...to save money. Money over lives is a bad choice.

Cheap assed Texas decided not to pay extra to winterize their wind turbines. Cost them dearly

Your math sucks! Try again!
12,000 miles in nine months is just over 1300 miles per month. Divide that by, say, 25 equals what? I suck at math and know that his calculations are correct. You don't teach math do you?

OK, Seabitch, I forgot you are stupid and had to go to school five more days be month than everyone else. I just didn't think they sent every bus in the district to take you to school.

Schools average 20 class days per month. I guess that applies to everyone except morons like you.
Did that make sense in your head because it did not translate from your crazy to English. What you just vomited on the page doesn't change the math being correct.

Listen, shit for brains! I was a math teacher for 21 years. Your use of 25 days per month is simply wrong. Some months have more than 20 days or less than 20 days, depending on holidays and breaks. A typical school year is over 9 months long at 196 classroom days. The number 20 is more accurate. You would know that is you ever attended school while not high as a kite!

BTW, you inability to read for comprehension is not the fault of my post, Seabitch!
It wasn’t my reading comprehension it was your writing ability. Sorry to break that to you.

Your problem was not with his math but with the numbers he use because he used 25 days instead of your 20? That’s a tomato tomato kind of thing there. Still under 100 miles a day which is well within the range of electric vehicles.

I have an idea concerning electric cars.

I envision you drive up to your filling station, much like a gas station today. There are alignment tracks that you drive along and then the red-light pops on saying “STOP”. Much like a car wash. You put on your parking brake, a machine reaches up under your car and removes a large, discharged battery and a charged one is put in to replace the discharged one. Within ten (10) minutes or less you have exchanged your discharged battery with a charged one. Now off you go with a 300-mile charged battery.
:)-
Good idea where you don’t own your battery but just swap it for a full one. Save you the eventual expense of eventually buying a new one
I like the idea and I've thought about it for a while. A few wrinkles to figure out:

1. Cost. A battery pack for a car runs to tens of thousands of dollars. Multiply the number of cars a charging station would see every day by the cost of a single pack and you have potentially millions of dollars in inventory a station would have to carry, and truck charging stations would have to carry even more. Would add substantially to the cost of operating a station.
2. Standardization. Every vehicle participating in such a system would have to have the same size and shape cavity for the battery pack to be loaded. Not a big deal on its face, but would limit future changes in chassis design. Something to consider.
3. Recharging. A charging station would have to get enough juice to continuously charge hundreds of battery packs simultaneously. I don't think a few solar panels on the roof or a windmill would cut it.

And God forbid one of the battery packs catches on fire. You'd lose a city block in a very short period of time because those things burn hot. Maybe keeping everything under ground like gas tanks are today would suffice. Anyway, things to consider.

A few weeks ago, President Biden announced his support for a bill that would make all school buses electric in 10 years. This is another disconnect between green extremism and reality. Electric cars function poorly or not at all in cold weather. Electric cars have limited range and can take up to 12 hours to recharge. Plus, 80% of our electricity comes from natural gas, coal, and nuclear power.

Study Shows Electric Cars Become Practically Useless In Cold Weather

A better action would be to convert all school buses to natural gas, which burns much more cleanly than gasoline. However, the green movement has become so extreme that it now opposes natural gas, even though we have greatly reduced our carbon emissions by using more natural gas over the last eight years. Sadly, Biden's energy plan would aim to cut our use of natural gas by around 30% in 10 years. In contrast, Obama's energy plan vastly increased our use of natural gas because it produces far fewer emissions than gasoline or coal.

Why not just get rid of school buses entirely and just use E-Learning like we did during the pandemic?

Reduces traffic overall, its a lot more earth-friendly. In addition, schools would have the opportunity to hire teachers from India who could stay in India- providing more competition for Teacher's Unions.
Props for thinking outside the box, however the problem with that plan is that it leads to children being under socialized and lacking structure, children need to physically interact socially with other children to develop social skills not to mention the positive effect that the structure of being physically in the school has on them, unfortunately there are indications that distance e-learning inhibits that.

I'm not a psychologist or child development expert, I've just read credible information that indicated that remote learning was having detrimental effects on children primarily due to the disruption of social interaction at school, one instance of which I linked in my post. The reason I took any interest in the subject was, like you, I considered the feasibility of continuing distance learning model that was put in place under the pandemic.

That being said, based on the small volume of research that I've seen, I'd say that it's better for child to have regular social interaction with both adults (maturation) and other children (learning how to interact with one's peers).
