Actually, it was my mistake: one of the liberals attacked me by comparing me to a historical BAD person because I pointed out Dems were being hypocritical in crying about being called communists while they were calling us Hitler and Nazis. I thought the leftist was comparing me to McCarthy.

McCarthy was absolutely correct.
The irony is that because he overplayed his hand, partly because he was an alcoholic, it's now considered bad manners to accuse somebody of being a communist, even when they admit it.
