Democrats make counterproposal to end the shutdown. Will republican vote to continue to shutdown.?

Obozocare covered less than half the people promised at over three times the cost. That is a massive failure.
Massive success you mean. Been in place for a decade helping 44M people get affordable insurance and reducing the uninsured by 20-30M is about the most successful program put in place since Medicare.

people from all ideologies agree in this board, that not accepting a proposal by the opposing party means you love the shutdown and you don’t care about poor people.

We are about to find out if Republicans really want the shutdown to end, because if they do not agree with Democrats counter proposal, it follows that GOP does not care about the people who are suffering from this shutdown.

This will take time so I will notify you as soon as Republican make a decision on whether they dislike or like to shut down.

Hey stupid, CRs are not open to negotiation.z

Unaffordable disaster and 20 million still uninsured.

This article is deceptive.

Schumer proposed a “clean” one-year extension to the tax credits that expire on Dec. 31 — meaning they would not include new restrictions on eligibility that many Republicans have sought. He also proposed creating a bipartisan committee to negotiate a longer-term solution for the subsidies and other health care reforms, to begin its work after the government reopens.
The tax credit of ACA will not expire on Dec 31, but the enhanced credits due to the Plandemic are going to expire.
What a deceptive article. How do journalists get away with writing like this?

Suggestions? The progressives would work to find a solution there for the remaining uninsured. Its the GOP that prefers 50-60M uninsured Americans.

This program requires people to pay for their insurance. In all situations the benefits of the subsidies are means tested. It is derived from Republican solutions vs the Democrats who wanted to pass universal healthcare which the GOP wouldnt side with. It is nothing but Tribalism that has republicans trying to kill a program 7 out of 10 people want to keep that they basically developed.

Democrats have recently shown a renewed enthusiasm for the filibuster, a tactic used to delay or block legislation in the Senate. This shift comes after a period where many Democrats advocated for its elimination, particularly when they were in power. Now, as the minority party, they are utilizing the filibuster to exert influence and block Republican measures.
In early 2025, Senate Democrats used the filibuster to block various Republican bills, despite previously pushing to abolish it. This inconsistency has drawn criticism from Republican leaders, who argue that Democrats favor the filibuster when it serves their interests.
While Democrats once sought to eliminate the filibuster, their current strategy reflects a tactical embrace of this legislative tool to navigate their minority status in the Senate.
However, It appears that Schumer's hold over the minority may be falling apart.
Some moderate Democrats are negotiating with Republicans, but significant opposition remains, particularly from Republican leaders.
