this is a perfect example of democrats and their lawless attitudes, instead of arresting and prosecuting thieves they sue the manufacturer of the items stolen. So much for law and order we will just force companies to raise their prices because we can't be bothered with holding criminals to account.

The people stealing the cars are also blamed and arrested.

But the companies that made the system too easy to Hotwire and then after finding out about it kept building them that way hold some blame as well.

read the article they arent punished most teenagers are released with no charges in blue states and those that are prosecuted are given reduced sentences. The car manufacturers are not responsible to prevent your car from being stolen. Or shall we sue banks cause they were robbed and didn't have enough guards? Same concept.

They are responsible if they make it too easy for a car to be stolen just like a bank would be if they did not have adequate security.

These cars could be stolen with just a USB cord.

so what, used to be before automation that all you needed was to strip a couple wires. It is not the manufacturers responsibility to safeguard a car from theft after it is sold. And name one bank ever sued for a robber because they only had one Guard.

Another left-wing, ass backward dufus pipes up, placing wrong blame. What's next out of your mouth? We should only carry $1 dollar in our wallets so as not to make it too tempting for your friends to steal from us? I guess we'd better leave the credit cards at home too.

Companies are sued over this stuff all the time. I have a few friends that had Kia’s and are in the class action lawsuits.

Banks are sued all the time for allowing data breaches due to lax security.

This is not new and not a Left vs Right thing. It is the American way

The fact that they circumvented the ignition KEY shows it had adequate security. What's next in your addled brain. Having to put a boot on the wheel? SMH, you are the definition of a moron.

It’s about protecting consumers.

Companies get sued all the time for allowing data breaches to happen, this is no different.

Having a responsibility to clients of protecting their information is more in line with having your car stolen from a car dealership while it was there to be repaired, dummy. You just haven't got much in the way of common sense. Like I told your sock, Moroner, what responsibility do you put on the thief that took the car knowing full well that it did not belong to him? Run along, you're a common troll rook.

Which is also happening. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

Just to add a tiny bit of reality, this is simply more failed social engineering to get young Black men to behave themselves.
