Democrats have won..

Holy shit are you clueless, the House ALREADY passed the CR! Months ago

Geez, you dembots don't even know what the topic is.
The house is supposed to write 12 budget bills. Not a stop-gap CR.
Mike Johnson said that the house needed just a few more weeks to finish writing those bills. But that's when Johnson shut down the house (six weeks ago) So the only thing they had on the table was a CR.
A CR they can't amend because they're not in session.
So they're effectively saying, they aren't willing to negotiate, and they're holding the government and the people hostage.

Johnson passing anything isn’t relevant when the Dems shut the govt down

They are making the point that the Republican party is unwilling to compromise and they do not care about the average American. Especially don't care about the working poor. Willing to let them go hungry and without health care. Yes they said they would negotiate after the Democrats signed on but why take that chance. They've lied before and they seem to believe if they are in the majority they don't have to compromise at all.
The republican plan gave the house seven additional weeks to finish up the 12 regular funding bills.
But the house has now been on vacation for 6 weeks, so they didn't work on those 12 regular funding bills at all, and the CR they want passed runs out in three weeks, which means even if the democrats vote to open the government, it closes down again in three weeks.

When House Republicans first passed a stopgap spending bill last month, it was written to give Congress a seven-week window to come to a long-term deal on government funding.

With the government shutdown now running into a fourth week, that original Nov. 21 deadline is looming fast — and numerous Republicans acknowledged Monday a new, longer stopgap bill will be needed.

Altering the end date would also require the House to return at some point from its month-long shutdown recess to approve the measure.

How did the democrats shut down a government they have absolutely no control over. The republicans control everything. The house, the senate, the white house.

You wanted control of government, and you got it

Stop blaming it on the dog.

Because the senate needs 60 votes to spot debase so the CR can be passed

And the dems are voting to not allow that to happen

Take a civics case, you are way out of your league

President of the US Donald Trump
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson
Senate Majority Leader John Thune

You have the whole ball of wax.

Cool, and that is why Dems in the senate have decided to hold the county hostage with their Hamas tactics and shut rhe govt down
Reconciliation only needs 51 votes.

Do the math.

This isn’t a reconciliation bill. We had one of those already this year

Take some civics so you don’t continue to look so stupid and uninformed
Then make it a reconciliation bill. It only needs 51 votes in the senate, and the statute was written for this kind of situation in order to keep the government open.

Key features of the reconciliation process

Budget resolution: The process begins with Congress passing a budget resolution, which can include instructions for committees to make changes to mandatory spending, revenue, or the debt limit to meet the budget's targets.
Committee action: The specified committees draft legislation based on these instructions, which is then bundled into a single "reconciliation bill".
Expedited Senate debate: The Senate allows for a limited debate of 20 hours, after which the bill can be passed with a simple majority (51 votes, or 50 if the Vice President breaks a tie), thus avoiding the 60-vote threshold needed to overcome a filibuster.

You're the one needing a civics lesson

Reconciliation bills are tied to a fiscal year, not a calendar year,

We haven't had a reconciliation bill this "fiscal" year.

Fiscal year vs. calendar year
Fiscal Year (FY): This is the basis for reconciliation. A budget resolution for a specific fiscal year provides the instructions for a reconciliation bill.

Take a civics class a continued resolution isn’t a reconciliation bill. a reconciliation bill can’t impact the budget, impact social security, and other Byrd rules. A CR does all those things

Again dembot, you are out of York UE league here and clearly have no respect for our democratic institutions.

How do reconciliation bills work?

AI Overview

A reconciliation bill works by using a special legislative process to pass legislation related to the budget, such as taxes or spending, with a simple majority vote in the Senate, bypassing the need for a 60-vote supermajority to overcome a filibuster. This process is limited to budgetary matters and requires both the House and Senate to agree on the final version, typically by resolving differences through a conference committee or an exchange of amendments.
