Five of the last six general elections, the GOP has lost the popular vote. That isn't losing; that is getting taken to the woodshed.

It's the same woodshed that the Democrats visited from 1968 to 1992 where Jimmy Carter's 4 years were the only ones that saw a Democrat in office.

You should be able to see the swing...first red then blue. There is no real way to predict the outcome of elections 4 years hence but you can see the trend...red has become blue. The Democrats have maybe 4-8 years left before it reverts back...

Or maybe something else will evolve...or maybe one of the two parties will dissolve...

He actually won nearly every state that was contested seriously by both parties. The election wasn't close at all.

If the above graphic means anything it indicates a cyclical progression to be sure. However, Obamacare was passed early in the President's first term, the Supreme Court ruled on it, and Romney/Ryan campaigned against it...and they got their ass handed to them 332-206. You remember right? Probably not.

I think the Democrat's window is closing. Whether or not the GOP or some other incarnation siezes the moment is an open question.
