I'm affected in no way with what is going on in Chicago.

Chicago is only one town. Each idiot Democrat leader gives the rest of them the same stupid ideas.
For example.....SF decides to change their laws so that breaking into a store and stealing is the same as jaywalking.
Several months later some new DA in Manhattan decides that he likes the increase in crime it caused.....and does the same thing in his city.
Pretty soon your mayor or Governor decides to do the same thing.....and then you can't walk down the street without being robbed.

Right, the really rich areas progressive live in have fine public schools. These mostly all white schools do just fine

It's the poor minority public school children who are completely screwed.

It's the hush/hush segregation controlled by the DNC as they oppose school choice for the poor.

That is an issue. It's a bigger issue than that though. Many private schools have had major issues also.

The teachers don't want to work. It's a power struggle between the union and the elected officials. The union needs to be busted.

Democratic polticians are caught between a rock and a hard place because the teacher's unions support them overwhelmingly with votes and cash but parents want their kids back in the classroom. Lightfoot KNOWS she faces a parent revolt if she caves to the teacher's unions but also knows she's going to anger the teachers if she keeps the schools open.

That is an issue. It's a bigger issue than that though. Many private schools have had major issues also.

If they have issues it is because of the Prog agenda infection. There is not enough money to keep kissing the asses of the Public School Unions and pushing a better education. The answer than has become permanent "Equity". Problem fixed.
