Breitbart Business Digest: Democrats Downplayed Inflation and It Cost Them the White House
Democrats Refused to Believe Polls Showing People Disliked Biden’s Economy

One of the reasons Democrats were caught off guard by the strength of support for Donald Trump across America is that they underestimated the importance of inflation and economic conditions to voters.

The economy was the leading concern among U.S. registered voters heading into the presidential race, according to Gallup’s polling. In a field of 22 topics, the economy was the sole issue on which a majority—52 percent—of voters indicated that candidates’ stances were “extremely important” in shaping their choice. Voters favored former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris by nine points as the candidate more capable of managing the nation’s economic challenges.

Biden and the Democrats made the American People suffer economically for four long years. They let the effects of inflation go unchecked and now they have paid the price.

The only things that the Biden administration cared about was

1. Climate change, all funds rerouted to all things climate change, including their "inflation act".

2. Abortion, the pillar of the democrat party.

3. Open borders. We need to replace all the conservative whitey's running round.

4. Funding endless wars, whether they be in Israel or the Ukraine.

That is pretty much it. They are a one trick pony.

Seriously, you could fill a good-sized pamphlet with the scores of things that the Democrats screwed up, the opportunities they missed, and the little things that the Trump campaign did well. And in that pamphlet you could identify at least ten things that if either side had handled them differently, could have changed the outcome of the election.

Yeah, the economy and inflation were a big part of it, but also was the over-persecution of the man himself, Donald Trump. The more shit they threw at him, the more convinced rational voters became that the shit storm was actually hiding something - the Democrats' fear that Trump was actually appealing to more Americans than their candidates were.

The inflation surge was entirely the Democrats' fault, and I think most voters figured that out. And the "score" on inflation was NOT the inflation between 2023 and 2024 (which was not alarming) but between 2020 and 2024, which they could not roll back. The surge was caused by insane Democrat spending, first to overcome the negative impacts of inflation, then to simply try to buy millions of votes with Democrat giveaways. The Republicans, acting alone, would have accepted a brief recession caused by the Pandemic, then moved on with our lives, particularly if Trump was serving his second term at the time, and not concerned about re-election.

Yes, and it started way back to when they declared that inflation was transitory. Everything after that was denial, denial, denial. It's pretty stupid to tell millions of Americans who can't afford to live anymore that the economy is going great but then they go to the grocery store and find out the economy is not going great.

Just curious........what exactly should Biden have done that he didn't to address inflation?

( I know of one correct answer)

Democrats should not have locked the country down due to Covid.

He should not have passed legislation with zero Republican support, adding to the national debt.

He should not have encouraged higher wages.

He should not have gotten out of Afghanistan so badly that it encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine.

He should not have opened the border to illegals.

He should not have attacked fossil fuels and increased environmental regulations, forcing up energy prices.

He should not have resumed humanitarian aid to the Palestianians who, in turn, funneled the money to Hamas and igniting yet another war in the Middle East.

To answer your question, it is not a question of what Biden should have done, it is a list of all the things Biden should NOT have done.

So you admit you were dishonest and still expect me to engage with you.
LOL. You ARE engaging with me. But, your engagements are nothing but denial. I'll be waiting breathlessly for your next engagement with me saying that you aren't going to engage with me.

They must have thought that men did not know inflation works.

They didn't just downplay it. They tried to deny that the economy was doing poorly altogether. They literally ran propaganda pieces saying the economy was doing great and that the general public was, "wrong."

You want to read Ed Dowds analyses and see how they fiddled the figures -- the last thing they could afford was their figures being examined and commented on by experts
