I support a life sentence on any criminal who uses a gun for an actual gun crime..... and 30 years if a criminal is caught in possession of a gun, even if they are not using it at that moment for crime.

This will dry up gun crime over night. Criminals will stop using guns for robberies, rapes and murders.....and those who do will be gone forever......

Criminals will also stop walking around with guns in their pants......which is the leading cause of random gang shootings in our cities. if they are stopped by police, with a gun in their pants, they are gone for 30 years...they will stop carrying those guns, and random gang violence will end.

You implement this with two other things...

1) No More Bargaining Away the Gun Charge.........it must be against the law to bargain away a gun charge as part of a plea deal....this stops.

2) When a criminal is arrested for any crime, and booked in...they will be read the announcement that any use of a gun in a crime is a life sentence without parole, owning or carrying a gun as a felon is a 30 year sentence without parole....when they are released from custody...the same will be read to them again....when they meet their parole officer it will be read to them again.....the U.S. government will also buy and send out Public announcements on this policy on t.v. radio. and cable......

In response to the question that, “If guns were taken out of the equation, would that reduce the numbers of deaths between cartels having shoot outs in the streets with a rival cartel over turf?” His response “No. We’ll just use machetes and bats” if guns are removed from the equation. Criminals will develop their own lethal weapons if need be and will always find the means. Law-abiding citizens have the right to protect themselves and their homes if need be.

Guns changed nothing except make it easier for men to do stuff like conquer indigenous people (and rape torture and enslave them...) for example. Women gained their rights NOT through the gun, but through hard work and legal change, demonstrations, and political action. That is what freed us. We HAD guns long before we had rights.

Data shows a precipitous decline in law enforcement activity from last June through this February. We found that across the 10 major cities we studied, deadly violence rose as engaged policing fell. Cities that cut (or threaten to) police budgets often saw the largest drops in active policing and the increases in homicide.

After the George Floyd protests started in New York City, the New York Police Department logged 45,000 fewer arrests from June to December — a 38% decline while the Big Apple added more than 100 additional homicides (a 58% increase).
