Democracy! ...a majority of Greenland citizens want to join America...

BackAgain it's 4am in the UK and I'm heading out to work in 4 hours times, so good night and enjoy getting excited over Greenland.

I don’t care if a puss like you puts me ignore. I’m toying with that notion just because you’re such a sad troll Brit twit twat.

Also, I am pleased that you finally recognize the error you made about who would or wouldn’t sell Greenland. Always happy to help you out. 😎

Commentary...

We are already supporting the lions
share of their security needs. The Louisiana Purchase and Seward Folly... AKA the purchase of Alaska, they worked out pretty well for us. Tell me, what's the downside of purchasing Greenland...other than Trump wants to do it.

"A new survey found that a majority of Greenland respondents support joining the United States.

According to a poll by Patriot Polling released Sunday, 57.3 percent of respondents approve of Greenland becoming part of the U.S. Just 37.4 percent disapproved of the potential acquisition, and 5.3 percent are undecided about the move."

(Then there's a bunch of commentary. If The Hill wants to contradict the results of this survey...run your own!)

(I wouldn't hold my breath on that...if they were to get the same result, it would run contrary to their biased narrative.)

When in Rome, do as Romans do. Hitler's or Putin’s style brings wars(WW 2 and Ukraine war ). :)

👉 Greenland, the world's largest island, is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, strategically located between North America and Europe. Its significance has surged due to melting Arctic ice, which opens new shipping routes and reveals vast mineral resources, including rare earth elements essential for modern technology[1][2][10]. The U.S. military presence at Pituffik Space Base enhances its role in NATO's defense strategy, particularly in monitoring Russian and Chinese activities in the region[3][4][11]. Greenland's geopolitical importance continues to grow amid global competition for resources and strategic positioning in the Arctic[8][9].

👉 Recent polling indicates that 57.3% of Greenlanders support the idea of joining the United States, while 37.4% oppose it and 5.3% remain undecided[2][3]. This survey coincides with renewed interest from President-elect Donald Trump regarding Greenland's strategic significance, although Greenland's Prime Minister Múte B. Egede has stated that his people do not wish to become Americans, emphasizing a desire for greater independence[1][4]. The poll's credibility is questioned due to its small sample size and the influence of Trump's family visit during its conduct[2][3].

👉 Diplomacy may not be the most effective way to make Greenland part of the United States due to several factors. Greenland is on a path toward independence from Denmark, with many Greenlanders favoring self-determination over integration into the U.S.[1][3]. Attempts to purchase Greenland have historically led to tensions, such as the 2019 proposal by President Trump, which was rejected by both Greenlandic and Danish officials[2][4].

Instead, a Compact of Free Association could be a viable diplomatic approach, allowing for cooperation while respecting Greenland's aspirations for independence[3]. However, any such agreement would require genuine consent from the Greenlandic people, making unilateral actions unlikely to succeed[1][3].

US should have a say about Greenland's future in exchange for defense. Greenland should not be a part of the US. DEI and open border will destroy that island overnight.

Though still considered part of the Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland was granted home rule in 1979. It is a beautiful country. But with a population less than 60,000 and a country that is winter with four months of essentially no sunlight, the people are pretty much limited to hunting, fishing, mining and tourism. It is difficult to improve quality of life there. and have to import most goods that we Americans take for granted. But the cost of living is high, healthcare services aren't that great, and if becoming part of the USA could remedy some of that I'm sure the Greenlanders would at least be somewhat warm to that idea.

Like the OP says...if you have refutation of this poll... post it.

Or do your own.

We'll wait.
While the survey only polled 416 people in Greenland and is the first of its kind, it signals support for Trump’s larger international plans.

According to 538’s poll rankings, Patriot Polling only receives a 1 star rating out of three.

WOW.........

Rare earth minerals big there. Probably #1 reason.

Do we want to rebuild the strategic missle defense there??? IDK
