In the remote chance that the US did get Greenland to become one of our states, having seen how devastating mining and drilling can be to regions, the Greenlanders would need to make sure that any drilling and mining, must be very limited and protective of its pristine land. Allowing a large US military Naval and Army base would provide more protection for the US and help any local community's economy.
