Im not defending what we are doing with the drug cartels I think it's stupid. That said you cant be upset that it's happening if you are ok with all the other strikes we have run in the war on terror. BTW the war on drugs and the war on terror were about equally successful, which is to say they were wildly unsuccessful. It was brilliant to combine them.... The current engagements with the Venezuelan drug cartels have little to do with drugs though IMO. It's another regime change. If it were about drugs we would be striking the Columbian and Mexican drug cartels as well.

My point is there cant be 100,000 deaths from whatever source is assumed from this "attack" when there werent that many in total. So its a bullshit made up number. The same justification that the Obama admin used to make it ok to kill a US citizen via drone strike, is being used by the Trump admin to kill Venezuelan drug dealers/traffickers. For some reason you are ok with the killing of the US citizen and not ok with the killing of the drug traffickers. The reason I suspect is Trump. That's it. If a President with a (D) next to their name made the exact argument and did exactly what Trump is doing you would be ok with it. I know this because you are ok with the killing of al-Awlaki and you are ok with it because Pres Obama (D). If Trump had done it you would be apoplectic.

I don't think we should have run a drone strike on al Awlaki without a least a court hearing even if it were in absentia, nor do I think we should be executing these current strikes against the "narco terrorists". My biggest issue with you though is the incongruency of your take on this subject.

Trump has total immunity for anything solely under their executive authority, such as commanding the US military.

Even after impeachment, he can’t be prosecuted for ordering the military to murder people.

The Republican Party now had the ability to kill anyone. That’s what SCOTUS did for us.

The military is under no compunction to follow such commands. They swear to uphold and defend the constitution, not the president.
