“We are prepared for booster doses if and when the science demonstrates that they are needed,” the federal agencies said.

The company, alongside vaccine co-developer BioNTech, said a third injection could significantly “boost” the antibodies that protect vaccinated people against COVID-19.

If these ppl had casually ignored covid like they do the common flu, and didn't social distance, or wear masks we could easily have seen that 28,000 number rise to over 100,000 deaths a year, without a vaccine, and that's completely ignoring the fact that variants might arise making covid spread a lot more easily and faster. Then there's the 50-64 age group, which had over 93k deaths. Again, this is while many states had some level of restriction going on and people were wearing masks and social distancing. We haven't seen death on this kind of scale since the spanish flu and that's after removing all the people you say had one foot in the grave.

But since hospitals were paid more for Covid deaths, they might just fib on the cause of death.
