Well you are not making sense, WW1 a family argument between the European Royals that killed millions, both my Grandad's were wounded in that terrible war one in France the other one fighting the Turks, but they did survive.

Very short: German soldiers in world war 1 hated their own officers (nobles) often more than they hated their "comrade"-enemies who had to live in the same bad situation as they had to live. It is said sometimes the war ended in reality because they just simple decided to go home. After World War 1 the rulership of the nobles in Germany ended and was replaced with democracy - Germany was now "the republic of Weimar".
