Cutting taxes is the smart, common sense thing to do. Reagan knew it. Trump knows it.

here's what liberals are clueless about: if the federal government really wants to stick it to rich folks and confiscate more money to fund their insane spending on counterproductive social programs, they should LOWER, not raise, taxes! before the Reagan tax cuts, the richest 1 percent paid 18 percent of income taxes. the top marginal rate went from 70 percent to 30 percent. and the result was: the portion the rich paid actually DOUBLED...they paid 40 percent of income taxes and produced 20 percent of the nation's income.

As Reagan once said: "Some folks call this principle supply side economics. I just call it common sense."

Tax cuts along with a reduction in Federal spending makes too much sense and the usual suspects in the government won't stand for it. The entrenched politicians don't want to see the gravy train dry up.

the top rate for the last 60 years has swung wildly, from 90 percent in 1950 to 30 percent in 1980, yet revenues have stayed the same. that's because when taxes get too painful, folks simply move their money from the federal government's greedy hands and into tax-free havens.

only a fool would advocate such a disastrous path!

Absolutely. He'll get nowhere without rewarding his donor groups.

Maybe it's because different people are now paying the taxes.

listen to this story:

in 2002, Virginia Republican Kirkland Cox set up a "Tax Me More Fund" in Virginia to see if the people who scream loudest about higher taxes would put their money where their mouths were! over 14 years, it has raised a laughable $12,000, an amount so tiny it can't even finance the salary of 1 part-time state worker!

Did Reagan balance the budget? Or make it worse?

"Did Reagan balance the budget? Or make it worse?"

answer him Rand! TELL HIM! TELL HIM! TELL HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM!

EXCLUSIVE – Senator Rand Paul: Let's Cut Taxes Now! - Breitbart

President Reagan famously led with a massive tax cut that stimulated the economy for years, leading to 4-7 percent growth through most of his term. The administration and Congress failed to get spending under control, a lesson we need to remember. But their tax cut and pro-growth agenda led to a boom, and millions of new jobs.

One of the things I liked about Donald Trump’s campaign was that he ran on a big, bold tax plan, that cut taxes for every American, and it was NOT revenue neutral. The government would get less money and every American would keep more.

1. You admit that Reagan's tax cuts made the deficits worse.

2. You support a Trump plan that will do the same.

Spending needs to be cut before taxes are reduced

1. you keep bitching about petty things

2. you're a *****

if the average American was aware just how much money the government poaches from you (FORTY PERCENT of your paycheck) there would be a tax revolt that would make the Boston Tea Party look like amateur hour!

The democrats were in control of congress......they spent every penny he brought in with his tax cuts....and them spent even more.......democrats don't care about balancing a budget or actually being able to pay for things.

Yes. We did TARP. Twice. Republicans agreed with that.

And, it is one of the reasons our economy is on an upswing even though other economies are struggling. And, since our economy is not independent of the world, that is an accomplishment!
