There are a handful of sports teams that have done things worthy of great attention.

1. the first US Olympics men's Dream Team
2. Duke University men's college basketball team winning the NCAA tourney (1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, 2015)
3. the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings appear in at least 3 Super Bowls (without winning!)
4. the Pittsburgh Penguins win multiple Stanley Cups with 2 superstars across generations (Lemieux/Crosby)

Sidney Crosby just won his 3rd Stanley Cup with the Penguins yesterday as his team defeated the Nashville Predators 2-0 in Game 6 to take the series 4-2.

The Penguins were up early, but the Predators continued to fight before Crosby's crew effectively shut them down.

Some say the Penguins are favorites to win the Stanley Cup again next year, and if they do, they'll be the first NHL team to win at least 3 Stanley Cups in a row since the 1980-1983 New York Islanders!

Many said Sidney Crosby was the new Mario Lemieux, and in many many ways, he's delivered on that promise and brought home yet another Stanley Cup trophy to Pittsburgh.

In this era of free-agency and steroids, isn't it nice to note that American TV coverage still includes spotlights on teams (i.e., Penguins) who illuminate the glory of competitive play?

This is why the UN and the NSA have clamped down to secure civil activities at international sporting events (perhaps a legacy of Munich).

The NHL may not be popular with everyone, but NHL video-games have brought new legions of 'armchair fans' to this less-hyped but well-respected American sports league.

CROSBY: We deserved that 3rd Stanley Cup.
LEMIEUX: You've won 3 now, and you're expected to win more...
CROSBY: I'm pretty satisfied today, Mario!
LEMIEUX: I bet. Congrats.
CROSBY: You won 2 for the Pens in 91 and 92!
LEMIEUX: It was super...
CROSBY: That was the same time when Duke University repeated as national champs in NCAA basketball!
LEMIEUX: Yeah, that was the first time a college basketball team repeated as national champs since UCLA.
CROSBY: Sports can either be terrific or completely horrible.
LEMIEUX: Case-in-point --- the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Games.
CROSBY: Better sports-marketing and appreciation by politicians of the power of TV can address concerns.
LEMIEUX: The world needs to believe pedestrian activities/targets are not 'bargaining chips' for terrorists.
