OK, the wife brought it home yesterday evening and put it all in the fridge.

This morning, I get it all out and WTF!

Turkey breast....A-OK.....Better than expected.

Cornbread stuffing.....Nasty, I'm debating even feeding it to my possum.

Turkey Gravy.....Like biting into a stalk of celery.....Blah.

Green beans.....A-OK....What there was of them.

Sweet potato casserole......Meh at best.

Pumpkin pie....Just fuckin' laughable.

I had added a pan of chicken and dumplins' to the order. They are just fine as usual.

So, I ended up making my own stuffing, gravy, baking a pumpkin pie, made/added a side of baked beans and mashed potatoes.

Oh well, it's working out though, my granddaughter and her kid is coming over having got the day off after all.

I feel your pain...but I always enjoy going to Cracker Barrel...don't make a habit of it tho. The peach cobbler w/ vanilla ice cream is out of this world. I don't smoke weed but if I did....I could smoke a bone, eat some of there PC and than take a nap right at my table

Only been there twice. Both pretty good meals. Probably best consumed fresh onsite. :)

Glad to hear you're having an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Condolences on your dinner. We did the same thing about 25 years ago from a local grocery store and we had the same opinion. Businesses just can't compare with what you make at home.

I guess it would be fine for people that don't know of any better.

That said I was right impressed with the turkey breast.

Basically, they took a whole breast, (maybe from a 12-14# turkey) boned it out and butterflied it with the skin still on. I might try that myself as it greatly reduced cooking time. It was still enough juice in the pan to baste it too.

Here ya go
Yummy

I live in TN and I never really got it where Cracker Barrel is concerned.

I can go to several diners around here and get much better country food if I don't want to cook.

But after 4 years of doing all of the cooking, I prefer my own now. I don't even go to Outbacks anymore.

I can pay $20 for a couple of steaks and they're better than Outbacks which will cost me at least $70.

.

We got the whole nine yards, ready to pop into the oven and serve up, from Marie Callender's in North Seattle -- long ago.

It was fairly good, and of course the pies were amazing.

I don't think the chain exists in Seattle anymore.
