Even if infected as a vaccinee, one answer, then, is that the vaccine protects against mutations of the virus that is circulating in a non-natural host (Homo sapiens) but not necessarily against the virus circulating in the natural host/reservoirs. If you buy the lab theory, you get duped for a long time by the communist Chinese. If you don’t buy the lab theory, you get duped for a long time anyway.

Why get the shot when you can still get covid?

It decreases the likelihood that you will get very sick from the China virus.

It's not a 100% guarantee that you won't get sick from the China virus. It vastly decreases the chance that you will get sick from the China virus.
