Is it worth it? The billions lost to a shutdown over what appears to be little more than a more virulent form of the common flu.. We are TOLD this is a major pandemic. Funny thing, when most of us aren't seeing that and the CDC attributes deaths to everything from car accidents, cancer to Covid 19, something isn't adding up here in the "its legitimate" column.

My take on it:

COVID-19: What Doesn't "Add Up"

You are still in shut down mode or you just never leave the house?

As pandemics go, lets see the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 that killed billions it wasn't coinciding with a political expediency. Trump is bad, race riots suddenly. Trump bad, we get a lockdown over a virus as virial as last years flu. Oh, Ok . What a freeking coincidence.

When this whole thing first started there might have been legitmate concerns and honest belief in the need for lockdowns but lets be honest as time went by it became less about public health and more about power and control.

Is this really a pandemic? I know many people that have gotten Covid, I don't of anyone dying from it., Accept one that was 100 years old. Anyone here ever get the flu? That's Covid. Why oh why are we destroying our society over this?

Cases are beginning to come down in every state, and only three states currently have stay at home orders. What are you referring to by "lockdown?"

I live in NVA, and am retired. I eat out 3-4 times a week. I visit my friends, and they visit me. I have face-to-face with my doctor, lawyer and financial planner. I am in most ways living as I did before COVID.

What a coincidence NOW that Democratic Joe is in power , the last year of Trumps "virus" abates suddenly ....The fever brakes and deaths rates drop.

It was about power and control, from the very beginning.

For some I have no doubt that is true but I don't think it was for the majority at the start.

What has bothered me since last February when this all began is why wasn't USAMRIID out there on the frontlines of COVID-19 publicly fighting against coronavirus and seeking both a better understanding of the bug and working on a vaccine. In the normal course of a novel pandemic or any biological (weapon threat) the U.S. Army's elite infectious disease institute would be doing just that.

The other troubling aspect, for me, is how the U.S. Army has not been involved in developing a vaccine (or outright treatment). Instead our government has farmed out development of vaccines to in some cases foreign pharmaceutical corporations free of much direct oversight. One could argue that times change, but I for one do not buy it.

LOCKDOWNS DO NOT HELP ERADICATE DISEASE- INSTEAD THEY CAUSE COLLATERAL DAMAGE

Basic epidemiological theory indicates that lockdowns do not reduce the total number of cases in the long run and have never in history led to the eradication of a disease.
