A family is fighting to prevent their beloved father from forever being wrongly labeled as just another COVID-19 statistic.
Jack Dake, 89 years old Oklahoma man died on May 6 after contracting COVID-19. There’s just one problem with his cause of death, his family says:
Jack Dake did not die from the coronavirus.
He barely had any symptoms, his family told The Oklahoman, and he died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.( Oklahoma family rejects coronavirus as cause of loved one's death).
Dake’s son, Jack Dake Jr., told the newspaper that his father’s death had absolutely nothing to do with the pandemic. The son insists that his father never required supplemental oxygen and had a brief stay of fewer than two hours in an area hospital. “No coughs, no lung congestion, no fever, none of the other symptoms of the coronavirus. Not one!" The elder Dake was in one of the final stages of his battle with Alzheimer’s and had quit eating and drinking, which is common for end-stage sufferers of the degenerative brain disease.
That didn’t stop a coroner from labeling Dake as a coronavirus statistic on his death certificate on May 14.
Jack Dake Jr. feels that his father’s death is one of many incorrectly reported deaths.
“On June 22, the state Department of Health records 369 COVID-19 deaths,” he said. “We know that number is false, misleading and not true. It’s less than that, maybe significantly less than that. Yet government officials at all levels, including at the Legislature, are making very poor decisions based on this information.
“One would naturally arrive at the question: 'Why would anybody do this?'”
The answer is here:
According to USA Today (Fact check: Hospitals get paid more if patients listed as COVID-19, on ventilators), a provision in the Coronavirus Aid, Relieve and Economic Securities Act provides a “20% premium or add on” to Medicare reimbursements to health care facilities.
Dake Jr. said that the health care system has been led to misreport deaths — although he doesn’t blame health care workers.
“If a regulatory body requires us to do something, even if we disagree with it because we think it’s unsound or unreasonable, we still have to comply with it” sais the son.
The Oklahoman's journalists come to the conclusion that everyone has to lie: “Doctors, hospice, care facilities and hospitals...”
When a Florida man in his 20s was reported to "die from the coronavirus", the WOFL-TV investigative team went on the hunt.
The response from Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino was shocking.
“He died in a motorcycle accident!"
From the author:
Some of the emigrants who arrived in our country from Europe at the beginning of the last century brought in a lot of bad things: a jump in prostitution, parks, and squares covered with feces, a fall in habits and morals ... A jump in ethnic crime.
But the main thing that they brought with them was the hypocrisy and lies that our country is sick with to this day ...
