Since when does the President, any President, have the authority to order the people to wear masks in public?

Maybe the governor of New York has that authority, but the POTUS doesn't.

BTW, this Corona Panic is in decline- deaths are down 90% since the April peak. Why the anxiety to establish more draconian regulations at this point in time? This isn't North Fucking Korea.

Is wearing masks in public draconian? It seems a lot better than shut downs/quarantines.

Actually, the left wants to do both- its not an either/or proposition.

Shut down , quarantine, and if you must leave your home, you need to stay hermetically sealed.

Cuomo needs to explain to the American people why he ordered covid19 positive people into nursing homes, killing thousands.

If he a brain cell left in his fucking liberal head he'd know that the gov't has no authority to order people to wear a mask. So Trump CAN'T do that.

Executive Orders are directives from the chief executive to government agencies to take specific actions, which must be in accordance with existing law and authority. Congress can try to pass a law, making it a federal crime not to wear a mask, but I doubt it would survive in the courts.

The fact is there is a WAR on Trump. He tried to work with people and to be fair there was at least some form of communication and a reduction of the hostilities by some. But others kept the politicizing up. A lesser man would have folded a long time ago. Its easy for mutant Prog to give the authoritarian orders. Now we know what their answers are. Tyranny for everything. Some group or groups will be blamed for every friggin agenda. Some of you groups that vote Prog may not be so safe yourselves in the future.

Is a temporary EO for wearing masks in public a form of tyranny?

Blaming the 'other side' is a long-standing tradition that has seemingly gotten much more prominent in recent years.
