This forum has a multitude of Veterans, more retirees than I've seen anywhere.

But i have a question.

How many of you have joined the American legion?

And if not, why not?

Each post is a bit different, Some are a lot different. Fortunately I'm in one of those......

It's not just the individual posts I'm irritated with. It's the national and state organizations which mainly caused me to toss the keys to the local VFW post onto the bar and walk out (I was Post Commander at the time). The Legion was similar.

As for the VVA? They're programmed to disappear when the last of we Vietnam Vets die, so they won't be here for future generations of Veterans. And, I don't like "era" Vets being identified with those of us who actually went.

I really don't have many issues with national, and I sort of skip state....

Not that I agree with everything national does.... But they have had a positive impact on many Veterans issues.....
