When the 32nd President put KKKer Hugo Black on the Supreme Court, he polluted jurisprudence with the bogus 'separation of church and state.'

Lyndon Johnson spit on the first amendment with this:
Democrat/Liberal LBJ, the law was passed that deprived pastors of their right of free speech.
What possible compelling government interest could this represent????

The 1954 federal Johnson Amendment prohibits a pastor from talking about candidates from the pulpit in light of Scripture. Thus, based on what a pastor says about an election from the pulpit, the tax code allows the government to tax a church. Consider that in light of the Internal Revenue Service's increasingly vague regulations, and you have a recipe for the censorship of religion. The IRS, through those vague regulations, reserves for itself tremendous discretion and power to decide which churches to punish for violations of the Johnson Amendment and which not to punish.”
Why don't churches pay taxes?

But there is hope for an American re-birth today:

President Trump announced at a campaign rally in Miami that he will take action to restore prayer in public schools. The president made his announcement at the launch of a coalition of evangelical Trump supporters at El Rey Jesus Church.

“Very soon I’ll be taking action to safeguard students and teachers’ First Amendment rights to pray in our schools,” Trump said. “They want to take that right along with many other ones.”

TRUMP: "Very soon I'll be taking action to safeguard student's and teacher's First Amendment rights to pray in our schools. We're doing a big action. Attorney General Bill Barr."

Christian educators who worked in public schools faced incredible oppression and backlash during the Obama Administration. One teacher was threatened because she had a private conversation about prayer with a colleague.

Nah. . . as long as a church doesn't agree to be part of the government, if they do not agree to be a "seen" by the government, they can do what ever they want. Just don't set up to be tax liable, don't be a 501c, and then, the state can't tax you anyway. It all comes down to the benefits of licensing and limited liability. Christians can find other ways.

It was a trap from the start. Ignore Trump. The Church was meant to be a check on the STATE, and the state making laws on it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

"This 160 page book is the most in-depth exposè that has ever been written on the legal and theological pitfalls and perils of church incorporation and the IRS 501c3 tax-exempt status. Includes valuable historic information regarding the origins of the corporation and why the early church was accused of civil disobedience for refusing to incorporate.

Also includes the historic influence of the "nonconformist" clergy (branded the "Black Regiment" by King George), without whom it is inconceivable that America would have ever declared independency."

Chapter Titles:

Not clear what point you are making, B

Is it consistent with this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Where do you stand?

Here?
It was a trap from the start. Ignore Trump. The Church was meant to be a check on the STATE, and the state making laws on it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

What do you mean by 'Ignore Trump'?

The point I am making, is. . . LBJ's law only applies to 501c organizations. If you are a church that REFUSES to incorporate, you can say any damn thing you want, you are free of state control, you are UNLICENSED.

Trump simple wants to change the licensing laws.

Well, if you don't have one, then it is irrelevant. If your license is one given from GOD and not the STATE, what does it matter? :dunno:

"An amendment, pushed by Lyndon Johnson many years ago, threatens religious institutions with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views."
Donald Trump on Thursday, July 21st, 2016 in a speech at the Republican convention

Donald Trump correct — Lyndon Johnson passed legislation limiting political activity of churches
. It said, in effect, that if you want to be absolved from paying taxes, you couldn't be involved in partisan politics.
"Subsequently it proved to have a profound effect on how thousands of tax-exempt organizations — including churches — dealt with issues relating to political campaigns," according to Patrick O'Daniel of the University of Texas School of Law in the Boston College article.

The law says all such organizations "are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office." That includes contributions to political campaigns and any form of public statement for or against a candidate or group of candidates."
LBJ and the ban on political activity by religious groups

"Trump said, "An amendment, pushed by Lyndon Johnson many years ago, threatens religious institutions with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views."

Trump is correct that the law was pushed by Johnson and that religious groups that advocate for candidates risk losing their tax exempt status.

It's important to note that the prohibition is not just restricted to religious institutions. It's nonprofit charitable organizations in general.

But overall, we rate the statement as True."

"Is this just about free speech for churches and pastors?

No. It's also about money and politics.

Conservative groups that favor a greater role for religion in the public space, such as the Alliance Defending Freedom, have long sought to repeal the amendment, arguing that it restricts free speech by censoring the content of a pastor's sermon.

Overturning the law, however, would also have major implications for campaign finance. If churches or clergy are allowed to participate in political campaigns, tax-free donations to the churches could go to support a political candidate. Religious organizations could become bigger money players in politics."

I agree. .. but you know lawyers, right?

They will tell us this non-profits can do this, or non-profits can do that. . . .and then, give a license to a church calling them "non-profits."

Then, all of a sudden, the lawyers and politicians have RULES for non-profits. And the churches, they HAVE TO follow rules for ALL non-profits.

. . . but wait, THERE ARE SPECIAL RULES IN THE CONSTITUTION FOR RELIGIONS?! :dunno: Doesn't matter, they want the churches to follow the rules for non-profits, no exceptions.

Yeah, that didn't matter to the government. What we were talking about is the tax-exemption for NON-PROFIT status. That is what the LBJ amendment is about, it is how the sneaky globalists were trying to abrogate the 1st amendment. The government doesn't like competition, and it doesn't want folks educating or messing with folks minds, that is the job of government public schools. This is how they were trying to strip away folks belief in a universal creator. You have to hand it to them. . . for the most part, after sixty years, IT WORKED!

Nope....no special rules.

Everyone gets free speech.....the only restriction is Brandenburg...

....here is the Litmus Test:

Brandenburg test
Standard established in Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 US 444 (1969), to determine when inflammatory speech intending to advocate illegal action can be restricted. The standard developed determined that speech advocating the use of force or crime could only be proscribed where two conditions were satisfied: (1) the advocacy is “directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action,” and (2) the advocacy is also “likely to incite or produce such action.”

Brandenburg test

And even here, I can see problems....
