Johnson is a decent guy with a good record as governor. Johnson doesn't have dirt, he isn't "racist," and he has a documented track record of controlling spending and creating jobs.

Nobody is talking about cutting SSec or Medicare for current recipients. But they DO need a firmer structure for the future. THe SS crisis we were warned about came 12 years EARLY. And now the fund is bleeding deficit and contributing HEAVILY to the debt.

What you don't seem to understand is that fiscal sanity is a GOOD thing. Because when just SS/Medicare and payments on the debt start to approach 80% of budget --- then there is LITTLE room for creative social reform.

Libertarians are big on eliminating Corporate handouts and welfare. As committed or MORE than Bernie was. Also huge fans of school CHOICE. So 1000s of parents who give a fuck and line up for vouchers in a damn lottery have a BETTER chance of moving their kids out of failing schools. We are also big fans of Judicial Reform --- although a lot of that needs to be addressed on state / local level. So that cities like Ferguson do not rely on Fines and penalties as their 2nd largest source of income. And there are not an average of 3 warrants per household per year. Because of errors, inefficiencies, and brain dead concentration on fines and punishment. Large advocates of Civil Liberties and ending domestic spying when the govt can't even investigate a Tsarneyev or Orlando shooter that they had in their sights.

There is a voting block that constantly supports bigger, and more powerful govt --- yet the economic oppression in poor communities largely comes from the fact that local gvt is currently NOT delivering customer service in the smartest, most efficient way. Because of perverse NEGATIVE incentives to perform well. And because they don't recognize the desparate impact that contact with "the system" has on the working poor.

And yes. If there was ANY reason for a FEDERAL level Dept on Education, it would be in COLLECTING test data and HARMONIZING curriculum. But since there is such a negative reaction to national testing, and standardization and stating the actual problems -- then there is no reason in HELL to continue that role. Since most trickles of monies that come from it back to the states have strings and hurdles attach and is not worth the effort to even get or comply. And if you can't talk about closing failing schools from a National perspective --- it's a waste of time to have that department.

If the election goes to the house, there will be no civil war. Perhaps a bunch of stores looted and cars turned over and burned in the hoods, but no civil war. It will simply be our government following the prescribed process described in the constitution. That being said, the House may choose "none of the above" and go with someone else.

No they won't, they can't. They have to select one of the top three canidates....rules...constitution and such.

Florida and Ohio are not "neck and neck". Clinton leads in Florida by 10 points and Ohio by 5, according to the most recent polls.

And there's little to no chance of Johnson winning a single state, no matter how much I'd like it if he did.

While I will readily agree that "entitlements" need to come under control, taxpayers pay into SS and medicare. If Congress is misspending those funds or not controlling waste, fraud and abuse, that's a different matter.

When you look at Occupy, BLM riots, and Private Trump rallies, it is the Left that is prone to civil unrest. This would be a grave concern given how the Left reacts then they don't get their way. You may be right. The House Republicans have shown they have no balls, they despise The orange clown, and giving it to Johnson would likely grow the Libertarian brand to the detriment of the GOP. However they would be between a rock and hard place. If they do give it to Hellary, the backlash from their constituents, the ones who made Trump the nominee, would be dramatic and swift. The best scenario for the GOP now is Hellary winning outright. That way they preserve their standing in a 2 party system.

Congress STOLE the SS surplus for 30 years, spent it, and put NOTHING of value in Soc Sec TF. NOW, when then IS no surplus --- and the income is in deficit -- the shortfall is covered by issuing NEW DEBT from the Treasury every year. They are Stealing again from CURRENT and future taxpayers to cover their theft from PAST taxpayers.
