Core Inflation pushing near 3%

Looks like inflation is pushing into 3% territory. Core inflation was 2.9%.

The Consumer Price Index rose 2.7 percent from a year ago, the swiftest pace since February, data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed on Tuesday. That is slightly higher than expected and is up from an annual pace of 2.4 percent in May.

“Core” inflation, which strips out volatile food and energy prices and is seen as a reliable gauge for underlying price pressures, also shifted higher. Those prices were up 2.9 percent from the same time last year.
Let me know when it gets up to the 10% Biden had.

PPI numbers came in today. Inflation cooling at the producer level. How can that be with all the tariff talk?
Goods went up just like the CPI did. Service costs went down. I'm not in the services sector so I dont have an explanation without googling.

Points
  • The producer price index, a measure of wholesale costs, showed no change in June, against the forecast for a 0.2% increase. The same was true for the core PPI.
  • Though the numbers for headline and core wholesale inflation were subdued, final demand goods prices rose 0.3%, but were offset by a 0.1% fall in services.

Biden had it at 2.9%. Trump had unemployment at 15%. Is that how we judge his employment performance or do we look at the number he passed onward, which was 6.3%?

Biden had 10% in just one year, 20% with all four years added together. Like I said, let me know when Trump hits that.

Wait, during the campaign we were told that Americans couldn't survive with our high prices and now you're saying that we are in position to tolerate even higher prices? Seems like you're doing a 180 since Trump got elected, you know, for political purposes.

For starters, we aren't really seeing higher prices. Secondly, we will have to see how real wages are affected when the dust settles, after all, that is the bottom line. I do know that raising federal income taxes affects take home pay. That is not part of the real wage calculation, but that is a huge concern and exactly what would have happened had Harris been elected.

Bringing money into government coffers takes it out of the economy, doesn't it? You said the opposite earlier.

Yes, all of it when it is in the form of federal income taxes, assuming everyone sees a tax increase, but only a portion when it is in the form of prices being raised due to tariffs because not all prices will rise and not every person buys goods that have been affected.

Because democrats shut the country down. Funny you demwits force companies to close then blame Trump for the layoffs. And what's worse, you allow the companies to reopen, rehire these people back, and then CREDIT a senile child molester for "creating jobs."

Y'all really are some shitfucks, you know that?

Biden ended inflation. Trump didnt end unemployment. Biden did that too. Trump is T minus 10 seconds from shit canning this economy too… again.

Biden got us to 10% inflation, which is still cooked into today's books, still making it hard for Americans to afford to live anymore.

Trump got us 15% unemployment. No one can live without a job. Biden got you 33% higher wages and 31% more inflation. You are better off. I can’t help it if you are the outlier who can’t earn a living. Maybe you should be on welfare you free loading red hat.

The unemployment was from Democrat's Fauci saying we should lock the country down. Are you now saying Biden shouldn't have pardoned him?

The inflation was Trump allowing Fauci to lock down the country and cut off all the supply of goods into the country. Are you now saying Trump should have done something to an employee he oversaw?

So, just to clarify, you say it was a mistake for Biden to pardon Fauci and for democrats to listen to Fauci for four years during Biden?

People who voted for this buffoon are now realizing their mistake.

He wanted no more US involvement in foreign wars yet he's involved in two and recently bombed Iran.
He promised to deport violent illegal aliens he's deporting strawberry pickers.
He promised he'd stop the Ukraine war in a week instead he's escalating it.
He promised lower inflation but its rising.
He promised to release the Epstein files but now he won't.

Wake up magat retards.

Since inflation is still progressing at above goal range, we are seeing higher prices.

Funny how you guys didn't care about real wages when it was Biden.

We can argue about the various pros and cons of tax policy, but one thing is hard to argue against and that is that tariffs are a tax on Americans and pretty regressive when it's not applied selectively.

You mean above 2%. When did Biden ever see that number?

Funny how you guys didn't care about real wages when it was Biden.

I never said I don't care about real wages. Do you care about take home pay?

It is even more difficult to argue that raising taxes doesn't negatively affect everyone that pays them.

Deflection noted.

You didn't care about real wages under Biden. By the end of the Biden administration, real wages were higher than the pre-COVID peak under Trump.

You can easily raise taxes on some people and not others, doing so in a way that is progressive. Tariffs are regressive when they're so broad based.

Yes, you sure can, in fact, we already do that. Where does it stop? Your side of the aisle seems pretty keen on Socialism, which explains why all the Socialists candidates run on the Democratic ticket.
