I get two retirement checks (here's a bone to chew on) and both are going to be decreased by peripheral ways. As it stands right now, my VA Benefits have decreased because of the layoffs. That means, I will be using my Tricare for much of the replacement. And the Big Vunder Bill takes even more. While the pay won't be affected, the other living expenses go up. I am lucky on this one since I have more options that most Veterans. I am fully retired from the AF.

Then there is my SSI. Again, the pay would not go down but the support features do get chopped. For instance, the closing of the SSA Offices. Right now, it's open but it has reduced it's hours and features due to the firing of employees. Under the new bill, it gets even worse for the Average SSI recipient. I have a mixed bag so I can use either Medicare or Tricare for medical needs. Again, the Average American doesn't have that ability.

Yes, you see the pay not going down but I see the whole package being slowly sapped. And to think, that lying Orange Cheeto said he would not touch Medicare but he sure as hell has dipped his single member into Medicare and the VA Benefits where we will pay more out of our pockets. And I can't comment on Medicaid since I make too much to use any of it's services.

Wrong. by percentage, my taxes have gone up in comparison to income for many years. When the last bill to keep the billionaires from using the soup kitchens, my taxes went up to pay for that. Imagine, a Billionaire only able to afford 3 Yachts and 5 Luxury Homes.

Our incomes after retirement is made up of many things. My taxes went so I had to take money from my income and pay that. It's the same as getting a pay cut.

To give you an idea, I am also an Entertainer that plays Bass. I made more money during that time in Music as a Union Player than I made with the Air Force. And I paid more taxes because I wouldn't even wake up to go play for anything less than 250 bucks per night. Doing that 3 nights a week, that is 750 bucks. Hell that was good money even today. What I did with the music money was to reinvest it into equipment. Bad news, I lost the equipment in a Divorce and I had that equipment before we were married. But it was a damned fun ride.

Now, I am 74 years old and can't work due to the back treatment of my body in my younger days. And, yes, you are sorry. Very sorry.
