Core Inflation Falls to Lowest Rate in Four Years - Wage Growth Outpaces Inflation

I heard yesterday that there are now a half million more homes for sale than there are buyers.

The bad part is that they are mostly in the left coast states and FL....The odd part is home prices are not falling in the same areas.

Still selling well here.....The house across the street was only on the market three days before it sold....LOL....The sign went up and came down so quickly I thought I was seeing things!

A Amazon warehouse manager bought it.
Home prices need to go up, not down. Perhaps now we need less homes being built. Not a bad trend.

More like they need to be built in states people want to move to....Not away from....Nobody wants to buy a home that they can't afford to insure.....If insurance is available at all.

I'd be lying if I said I want prices to fall as high prices keeps the riff-raft out of the neighborhood but looking at what the guy across the road got for 500K (modest late 80s home) it does make you wonder.

And I shopped at a Grocery Store and paid more AND had a more narrow selection. I can see, if you were an American, you would be voting for the Orange Cheeto.\
You're new here. The veterans of the forum don't go in for ridicule of the president's name. The proper term is "President Trump". Thank you for understanding.

Hate to break it to you but my old account ran into problems and this one was created. My actual posted message count is over 40K. You are the one new here. And the proper term should be "Inmate Slimeball"

Funny, Gasoline went up another 15 cents last night. It's now up to 3.47 a gallon here. Breitbart is a poor choice to believe anything it has to say.
Where is “here” that gasoline has gone up? An intelligent method to assess gas prices is to focus on the national average; Focusing on the gas prices “here” as a reflection of the Administration’s impact on gas prices is intellectually weak and dishonest. Understand that since gas prices fluctuate daily, a more accurate assessment of a Presidential Administration’s policy impact on domestic gas prices is to measure monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Clearly, Breitbart thought this through more than you did.

I'm a 27-year veteran of internet forums, so you are the new one here. The proper term should be "the Venerable President Trump".

Breighbart never thinks anything through. It’s just a right wing scream sheet.

As opposed to what, ABC and CBS? They are proven liars. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos lying about Trump’s rape charges cost the network $15M. CBS Dan Rather couldn’t contain his hatred for Republicans and George Bush so he pushed fake documents about Bush’s military service.

Oh, okay.

The doomer gloomers of this board have been spinning BS on this and other boards.

Cry harder.

...
As Breitbart’s John Carney reports:
Prices barely climbed in April, pulling the annual rate of inflation down toward the Federal Reserve’s two percent target, even while personal income climbed at a rapid rate.
The personal consumption price index climbed 0.1 percent in April, the second month in a row in which consumers got relief from inflation that had plagued the economy throughout the Biden administration. In March, the index showed prices were flat.
This brings core inflation to the lowest it's been in four years. Personal income rose 0.8% in April, for a net 0.7% gain net of inflation.

But but but

orange man bad

No, they never even bother to look anything up. Just by you agreeing with them tells me you are just swallowing the Orange Koolaid and not thinking things out. If Gas raises here (we have a local Refinery) then what's making the change? Easy answer. The orange cheeto pissed off Canada where get a portion of out crude from. Western US imports from Canada while the Easter US exports to Canada. And your orange Cheeto has thoroughly pissed off Canada who is restricting trade (and even Tourism) and our oil goes up as well as our gas prices. Now, don't you feel silly? Of course you don't since you have no shame.

National average gas price in May 2024 was 3.57 a gallon, in May 2025 it's 3.16 a gallon

If you are going to objectively assess an Administration’s policies and their impact on gasoline prices, you need as many data points as possible…. not something regional and within a small period of time. The best one that meets this criteria is from the Energy Information Administration that looks at a Presidential Administration’s entire term(s). From here, you can average the annual prices of gas under each year within an Administration’s term(s) to provide a more accurate assessment.

You keep coming to the table with limited data to back your claim and have the audacity to point fingers at me as silly and shameful.

I guess that's why 65 percent of Americans thought the Biden economy sucked.
I think that is a testament to two things. First, the ability of the MAGA Republicans to control the message. Biden's first year, wage growth was not keeping up with inflation and MAGA was screaming about it from the rooftops. But into the second year of Biden's term he had turned that around, wage growth was outpacing inflation so you never heard another word about wages from the MAGA movement.

We saw the same thing with domestic oil production. The Biden administration was breaking records by the second year in production of domestic oil and natural gas was off the damn chain. But MAGA controlled their messaging and continued to talk about Biden's destruction of domestic energy production knowing full well it was a total fabrication.

Which comes to the second thing. Low intelligent, unknowledgeable, flippin idiots, many of the Trump supporters on this board could be the poster child for this.

Lol, we lived in Biden's messed up economy. Trump is correcting it fast.
