All the Copenhagen Summit produced was a huge waste of money, time, pollution and hey , ZERO results.
------------------------------
Our investigation found that the congressional delegation was so large, it needed three military jets: two 737's and a Gulfstream Five -- up to 64 passengers -- traveling in luxurious comfort.

Add senators and staff, most of whom flew commercial, and we counted at least 101 Congress-related attendees. All for a summit that failed to deliver a global climate deal.

And all those attendees who went to the summit rather than hooking up by teleconference? They produced enough climate-stunting carbon dioxide to fill 10,000 Olympic swimming pools.

It not all bad though, plenty of our congressmen, their families, pets, friends all got to stay at 5 star hotels and have a great time at taxpayers expense, drive around in limousines and experience the finest of dining...during a deepening recession...

I feel real good about it, how about you..?

Yep.

I was watchin O'Reilly last night and Stossell was on. He was talking about the fact that loads of our elected officials and their FAMILIES attended the conference at Stupidhagen. Yes theY and their families were ferried there in 4 jets. Rumor has it that Kerry flew in a jet all by his lonesome. The cost was 10,000 per hour per jet. They all stayed in a 5 star hotel, 300 some odd rooms and limo's had to be brought in from Germany to cover the need.

Original report done by CBS. Good reporting job there.

Wonder if these Clowns know we are broke?? Apparantly not. Wonder how many would have attended if they had to pay their own way???

As a perk, some took spouses, since they could snag an open seat on a military jet or share a room at no extra cost to taxpayers. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was there with her husband. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) was also there with her husband. Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) took his wife, as did Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI). Congressman Barton -- a climate change skeptic -- even brought along his daughter.

Until required filings are made in the coming weeks, we can only figure bits and pieces of the cost to you.

Three military jets at $9,900 per hour - $168,000 just in flight time.

Interesting, that we had a debate on this after the Post article came out on this same thing and some claimed that Post had no idea what it was talking about and now we have CBS New verification of the same story. It would seem that a video conference would have served the same purpose, but it does appear Congress is not much interested in saving money , however spening tax money they seem to have no problems with.

LOL...sometimes timing is everything.

First, we heard how some of the phony global warmering movers and shakers had been cooking the books in order to convince the world's dumbbells they were dealing in reality.

Then the temperatures in many parts of the world plumeted and we've had record cold, snow, etc. ever since, and no let up in sight.

Don't you just love it when some inconvenient truths screw up a good thing, Al?

Are you suggesting the US should isolate itself from the World?

Not at all, just stop wasting money during a recession would be a step in the right direction.

I like the idea of none of the above, but not having that option on your ballot should never be an excuse for voting for someone you don't like.

There are other options, like writing someone in, or just not voting at all.
