Cop in unmarked car doing 81 in a 40 kills man - Look for him to walk scot-free

No one believes this story that the cop was after a murder suspect but even if true, he was still in the wrong to speed. Cops can speed only if in a cop car and with siren and flashing lights on.

Sometimes cops have to step on the pedal but I think ALL law enforcement vehicles should have sirens and lights.

...and a governor not allowing them to exceed 60MPH unless said lights and siren are ON!

I can agree with that. When cops aren't in actual pursuit or responding to an emergency they should follow the exact same laws as everyone else. NEVER should they be allowed to be above the laws they're sworn to enforce.

. Someone else posted that it wouldn't be too hard to verify the story that the cop was tracking a murder suspect. I can't really see any other reason that a cop in an unmarked vehicle would be traveling so fast if it wasn't job-related.

HAHAHA. You brainless jackass!! You saying people never speed unless it's an emergency?? uranidiot

I'm not too certain that name-calling is necessary considering the fact that I generally agree with the OP. Are you having a bad day or something?

No, he's a mouth-frothing kookburger 24 hours a day, 365 days a year...well, when he gets away from the orderlies with the nets, anyway.

Okay ... gotcha. He's one of THEM. There's always one or two in every forum I've participated in. Thanks for the heads up. I'll go get a grain of salt or two.

]The surveillance video has gone viral. They certainly will not be able to say the evidence was lost or destroyed.

glendale deputy going 81 mph - YouTube

Oh yes they will. They'll just say it's gone and they don't care about any crap on the internet. No judge will stand up to the cops.

It's one of Arpaio's boys. I am not surprised.

Do you have evidence Arpaio is a habitual speeder and promotes that type of culture?

Or are you just another butthurt faggot liberal that goes off half cocked spewing retarded nonsense?

Rhetorical questions, no need to answer.....

I like Arpaio. One of the few Sheriff's who takes his job seriously and works for his pay. He represents the will of the folks who voted him into office and he understands Constitutional law.

If a police department is going to use unmarked cars in active situations, such as chases, etc - then they should have sirens and lights under the grill or behind tinted windows.

The NYPD even has sirens on their stealthly fake taxis, hidden behind the grill.

SS is right, he won't be held accountable no matter WHAT evidence they provide. There may be a conviction but it will be overturned by some cop-friendly judge in the middle of some other crisis when public attention is on something else.

well you seen what happened in Fullerton with the Kelly Thomas beating.....

The officer was driving an unmarked Chevy Tahoe which was not equipped with lights or a siren. It was an unfortunate accident.

P.S. Police may have been able to suppress evidence 30+ years ago prior to the internet and cellphones but not today. Today, police are not answerable to themselves; they are answerable to the public.

Surveillance cameras capture deadly crash involving deputy - CBS 5 - KPHO

Those two cops in Fullerton, CA just got off of a murder charge for beating a man to death right on camera. What public are they accountable to exactly?

I have never seen an unmarked car that DIDN'T have lights & siren...if nothing else, they have strobing headlights & taillights.

Almost all the ones I've seen had them too, but either this one didn't, or he didn't bother turning it on.

I am above namecalling and never indulge in it - except in cases like yours when i have no choice. How can you think for one second that people only speed in emergencies!!!???

Yep. The cop should be subject to the same charges as anyone else.

Cops get away with everything. They should be held to a higher standard than the general public but instead they are held to a lower standard. Trouble is both jurors and judges know that cops don't respond to emergency calls from those on the police shit list.

The far right reactionaries and libertarians and what else here are talking out of their asses.

"Glendale detectives have submitted the case to the county attorney's office requesting manslaughter charges be filed against Pearce,"

Don't post again, freaks, until you can come back and give evidence that charges were not filed or not sent to the grand jury.

Read my first post (#7). The guy will never see the inside of a jail cell.

A person is not here anymore so to me, some type of compensation should be in the picture.

God bless you and the victim's family always!!!

Holly

P.S. Of course, you can not put a price on a person's life. The money will not bring them back either. :( :( :(

You are correct, no lights or siren and he must obey the laws of the road. He knew that from his training. There is no excuse. At a minimum he is guilty of vehicular manslaughter. PERIOD

Uh....no. VM often implies intent to do harm. More than likely, it'll be a lesser charge such as gross negligence leading to a death (still, a felony charge--but with a lighter sentence).

That smaller car got hit pretty hard, but it stayed in-tact and didn't roll. I'm a bit surprised he died. There must of been some sort of direct impact to his person given how well the car held up.
